Perfect Day, Perfect Guide! - We spent the day seeing some of the most beautiful sights in the world with Johnny. He was passionate about the Algarve and shared so much knowledge with us. He was thoughtful in picking the perfect spots and it was so nice to have someone to take photos of the whole group. We would book a family adventure with Johnny again in a heartbeat! One of our favorite days in the Algarve.

From Albufeira to Saint Vincent, and points in between. - We have enjoyed many tour guides throughout nearly 40 countries and we can confidently say that Johnny (Joao) stands out as one of the best. He was personable, friendly, down-to-earth, humorous and with his wealth of knowledge and obvious love of southern Portugal he kept us engaged for the entire day. In addition to the historic sites and scenic beaches, we visited small fishing villages with charming narrow streets where few tourists go. It was an opportunity for him to share cool facts and perspectives on life in the Algarve. Johnny made us feel comfortable and relaxed from pick up to drop off and we regard him as more of a friend than a tour guide, someone we can contact for advice whenever we are in Portugal.´ Guy and Penny LaRocque (Canadians )

Best guide! - As a college-aged young adult, Johnny was able to give a tour that was fun, exciting and informative for both me and my mom! He’s great for all ages and his tours are super customizable. He’s so funny, nice, knowledgeable, and shows you the best hidden gems that you would not find otherwise! Definitely recommend going on his tour of the Western Algarve if you have the chance!

10/10 !! - My 22 year old daughter and I have quite different interests and perspectives, but Johnny was able to craft an itinerary that we both thoroughly enjoyed! Such an amazing day. To begin with, Johnny proved to be the perfect tour guide in every sense—he is super personable, kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We were staying in Lagos and wanted to see other parts of the Western Algarve, so we left the itinerary completely up to Johnny. I am particular and usually play a big role in customizing our private tours—not this time. Johnny promised to show us the best of the Algarve, and he did not disappoint! We visited beaches and and villages along the coast that we never would have found on our own. Along the way, we had many fascinating conversations, from the devastating effects of the 1755 earthquake to bola de berlim pastries (we were able to try them at the airport, Johnny!) to the dying art of calçada Portuguesa (the design work & patterns in the cobblestone pavement across Portugal). He even shared many personal family stories about the effects of war and living under a dictatorship. After the tour, Johnny sent us a list of all of the stops we had made along with pictures he had taken throughout the day. Who does that! I could go on and on. HIGHLY recommend any tour you can take with Johnny. He is simply the best!

John (Joao) is a sophisticated yet down to earth experienced guide that ensures that every single moment of the tour is unforgettable. We have travelled worldwide, have done many private tours but John goes beyond all expectations in a warm generous manner to ensure that you leave the Algarve with memories that will remain with you forever. BEST tour guide - had an amazing time! - My boyfriend and I did a private tour with Johnny and had the best time! Not only was Johnny brilliant with all of his knowledge on the history, culture, and fun facts about Portugal, but he was also the sweetest, most patient, genuine man and was so full of energy and positivity. I can’t rave more about him and the day we spent with him. Honestly, we were a little tired the morning Johnny picked us up after our friend's wedding-weekend, as well as a bit of jetlag, but Johnny immediately read the room and let us know we could drive quietly and choose how much, or how little, we wanted out of the tour. The weather that day was also forecasted to be very foggy, cloudy, and windy so Johnny tweaked the entire itinerary in order for us to experience viewpoints at better times of the day or avoid places that weren’t worth wasting our time at due to the weather. He also suggested we cancel our boat tour because of the waves that day - again, showing that he cared more about our day rather than “making a sale.” It was very considerate and unexpected, and you could tell how much Johnny respected us, our time, and our experience of a country that he loves so much. Also, I want to mention I am not a fan of high heat and humidity, and Johnny probably saw that in my face/reactions (haha), but he always made sure the AC was on in the car, we had an icebox full of various cold beverages, and he’d always drop us off & pick us up at our stops rather than having us walk long distances. I appreciated this more than he probably knows. All in all, it was truly a joy to tour these beautiful parts of the Algarve with him and I’d choose to do a tour with him again if/when we return, hands-down. Thanks again so much, Johnny! I hope our paths cross again. :)

Amazing Tour of Algarve! - We HIGHLY recommend Johnny’s Tours if you want to see the jewels of the Algarve. He was easily reachable, highly professional, spoke fluent English and gave us historical facts of the region. His van was impeccably clean and there was even wifi if you needed it. Our family spent an entire day with Johnny and we felt we made a new friend along the way! As Canadians-this was our first trip to Portugal and the Albufeira area and it was absolutely amazing! We will be calling on johnny again when we come back and recommend him to others!
