Additional Information

Escape the city’s hustle on a bike tour of parks and rural areas, commencing from Amsterdam. This tour, ranging from 3.5 to 4 hours, takes you through Vondelpark and along the Amstel River. You’ll have the chance to explore the polders and the Amsterdamse woods, learning about local history and traditional Dutch countryside life, while appreciating the beautiful greenery.

Half of the journey consists of cycling alongside the Amstel River, beyond the city limits and through the geometrically laid out drainage system of the polders. You’ll see one of the remaining traditional windmills and meet a quirky Dutch farmer at his cheese dairy and clog manufacturing unit.

The farmer will guide you through the process of crafting wooden shoes and creating renowned Gouda cheese on the farm. After the demonstration, browse through the gift area and taste the authentic Dutch cheese for free. The tour concludes with a cycling trip back to the city along the Amstel River, passing under the Rijksmuseum.

Great Way to See the Countryside - Riding through the countryside was beautiful. This was my second time to Amsterdam and I had never seen outside the city.

Amazing tour. Left and... - Amazing tour. Left and arrived on time, e-bikes worked well, and the tour guide Hugh was very friendly and informative. The 4 hour tour just flew by.

Easy amazing day on a bike - It was a blast from the jump — our guide Gus took us out of the city and through the various bike infrastructure to the most charming and quaint towns outside of Amsterdam, while still teaching us so much about Dutch culture and some history along the stops. The e-bike made the traveling a breeze and active (without any challenge/fatigue over 4 hours)! It is truly the Dutch way (and thus, best way) to see the area, the sights and the smells of the beautiful countryside. The bike paths were also very protected and often the only way through a field — it was super fun and great. This was also great because our guide was casual, chatty and facilitated a good group experience. I felt like everyone was very nice and friendly by the end — testament to a good tour! The cheese and clog stop was super tasty and a fun experience. Great for souvenirs if you’re into that, great for farm animal spotting if you like that too!

Excellent. Highly recommended. - The countryside just outside of Amsterdam is beautiful. As a first time visitor it was great to be able to explore outside of the city. Simon was amazing—knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining. Taking an e-bike tour makes all the difference.

A pleasant way to experience the beautiful Dutch countryside - Michael did an outstanding job wrangling our group. In addition to the quality of the route and his cultural/historical knowledge, I was particularly impressed with how much he genuinely cared for our safety over the long journey. He checked in with us regularly to ensure the bikes were performing as expected and offering tips to protect ourselves in the event of a fall. This was the highlight of my trip to Amsterdam. A note to participants: These are high quality bikes and the terrain is very flat so you needn’t be an experienced cyclist. That said, you do need to be able to ride a bike proficiently. There are many stops that will require getting on and off and starting and stopping over four hours. If you haven’t ridden a bike in many years, consider one of the shorter tours.

Good but misleading - This was as excellent tour if you want a casual ride around the Amsterdam country-side. The challenge was that the tour was not as advertised--- the great thing of the tour company is that they warned us ahead of time. Definitely the agency (V & TA) need to advertise the tour as the company has organized it so there are no missed expectations. If you want a casual ride around the countryside, I'd recommend.

Dishonesty and aggressive business - We where told by the tour guide that my wife is struggling with the bike and would slow everyone down. He said we need to go back to the office and get a refund. When we complied with disappointment but understood, the woman Katherine at the head office became aggressive and threatened to call the police while we where on the phone if we went back to talk to the staff on why they said we could get a refund if we agreed not to go. She refused to provide a refund stating it was policy. They lost no business and refuse to grant us even a partial refund amounting to $200 Euros for nothing. This is a true sign that the company is very bad and if anything occurs they will not take responsibility. Very untrustworthy that we unfortunately experienced the hardway. As seniors trying to help businesses after covid hard times, complete disregard and respect on visitors returning to support the travel industry.
