Escape the city’s hustle on a bike tour of parks and rural areas, commencing from Amsterdam. This tour, ranging from 3.5 to 4 hours, takes you through Vondelpark and along the Amstel River. You’ll have the chance to explore the polders and the Amsterdamse woods, learning about local history and traditional Dutch countryside life, while appreciating the beautiful greenery.
Half of the journey consists of cycling alongside the Amstel River, beyond the city limits and through the geometrically laid out drainage system of the polders. You’ll see one of the remaining traditional windmills and meet a quirky Dutch farmer at his cheese dairy and clog manufacturing unit.
The farmer will guide you through the process of crafting wooden shoes and creating renowned Gouda cheese on the farm. After the demonstration, browse through the gift area and taste the authentic Dutch cheese for free. The tour concludes with a cycling trip back to the city along the Amstel River, passing under the Rijksmuseum.
