Highlights
  • Barranco - Starbucks is the meeting point where you will meet our tour guide.
We will visit the most important spot in Barranco. We will stop to take photos and explain the history of Barranco, the street art, graffiti and murals
  • Parque Municipal de Barranco - We will continue the tour walking the streets and explaining the highlights of Barranco.
The district is considered to be the city’s most bohemian, being the home and working place of many of Peru’s leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers.
  • Bajada de los Banos - This is a nice point to see some graffiti, a place where artists of all disciplines and backgrounds have gone to nurture their creative inspiration. Lately, Barranco’s streets have become something of a canvas, as the local government continues to allow more murals to be painted on the streets’ walls, Barranco is morphing into a colorful and lively street art gallery.
  • Puente de los Suspiros - In the heart of Barranco is the Bridge of Sighs, a traditional wooden bridge wrapped in an air of romanticism, for having been the place that began countless love relationships in Lima.
  • Iglesia La Ermita de Barranco - The origin of La Ermita speaks of that maritime heritage: according to local folklore, a group of fishermen lost at sea spotted a light ashore after praying for salvation.

Additional Information

During this excursion, you’ll explore a neighborhood brimming with hip coffee shops, artistic boutiques, and exhibition spaces.
Barranco has risen to the ranks of an emblematic neighborhood, frequently topping charts as one of Lima’s most desirable areas. This wasn’t always the case for this now-vibrant artistic epicenter.

It began as a humble fishing port. After the War of the Pacific in the late 1800s, the wealthy citizens of Lima started to erect their weekend retreats in Barranco. As you meander through the locality, you’ll witness the street art and creative murals that provide a unique narrative of Peru’s past, a sight that’s truly unmissable!

Great tour with a great guide. - Giovana was a great guide. Very friendly and approachable and clearly knew her stuff. The tour was informative and interesting and I feel it gave us a great overview of the art and history of the area. At the end Giovana also helped people to find restaurants etc and she escorted me to the public bus system so I could visit another place.
