Amazing service - A fantastic service by Mark Williams & Big Bus New York. Got to view all of the main attractions and we were not aware the buses stop running at 5.30pm and missed the blue bus route. I then got in touch with Mark and he allowed us to view the blue route the next day with no quibbles whatsoever and completed the whole tour! Thankyou & can’t wait to visit another city with big bus!

Cheaper than Uber - My plan was to use this as an "Uber" to sightsee and what not. It was just that for my family and I. I purchased the Discover ticket online for 1 day and then did the upgrade for a second day in-person and saved almost $70 purchasing that way. Download the app to keep up with the buses. To make the most of the day I suggest starting around 9. Get the headphones and listen to the tour while on the bus, it's entertaining. For Uber purposes I made google Maps with places we wanted to go so I could which stops were close to those places.

Big Experience by Big Bus - We visited NY on 7-8 July 2023. We booked tickets on 7th around 4 PM and could be able to complete 3-4 points for half an hour and Bus tour ended their session on 5 PM so we got disappointed. But our ticket agent assure us that same ticket will work for next day too(Not mentioned before buying ticket).Next day we went to BigBus stop but another ticket agent refuses us to get in into Bus, it was great disappointment for us as we spent $150 just for 30 mins ride, Then we thought to give another try. Then we asked to another agent Mr.KOSSIVI ADIEYI, he understood our problem and happily provided extension which helps us to complete our tour. Buses are very clean, covers almost all points tourist looking for visit during NY. Staff is friendly and provides information for attractions. Its very convenient to hop-on, hop-off as multiple stops available accross city. Waiting time is less than 10 mins. I will definitely encourage to get BigBus on ur visit as it provided flexibility to visit all main attractions within limited time frame. Also, it saves ur energy and time to reach points. We had safe, enjoyable and convenient experience. Thank you Big bus. Thank you Mr.KOSSIVI ADIEYI.

Do this the day you arrive - We really enjoyed our hop on hop off tour . We never hopped off and went the whole way around the downtown route. It’s hot up top so make sure you put on some sunscreen and take a hat and water IMO do this bus tour in your first day as it really helps give you a layout of the land and will help you navigate around the city We didn’t pay anything as it was included in our New York Pass. Just scanned our pass at stop #1 the M&M centre time square

traffic only - Normally when I visit a city together with my family, I always choose this type of tour as I believe it gives you an overall view of the city. In this case I did both the red and blue tours and in both cases I was stuck in the chaotic traffic of Manhattan. the tour chosen (already knowing the city) seemed unnecessarily complicated and convoluted and in the end we got off and did it on foot first. really unkind staff (both the ticket seller at the stop and the driver of our tour who gave us incorrect directions in incomprehensible English!!). Forget about bikes or scooters not recommended for getting around.

Will not use Big Bus again. - In the last 2 weeks I have done Big Bus tours in San Francisco, Miami and now New York. The routes chosen by the company have been good. The commentary on all 3 tours was automated. Most of the time we were listening to music - no commentary, no local information. The commentary on the tour we did in New York today was abysmal. Almost no information other than what is written in their brochure. I will not be using the Big Bus company again.

North manhattan tour - The prattle about local landmarks was narrated in cutesy tone and not very informative. Got to the site I wanted to see. Came out three hours later and waited almost an hour and never saw a bus. Finally grabbed a taxi.

Dangerous - I was not impressed with our experience of Big Bus in New York. We went to get the bus for the Uptown loop and it was raining. When we got to the pick up point, the representative gave us our tickets and rushed us along with others onto a bus which took off as soon as we were all on. Turns out it was the Downtown loop! There were no seats downstairs and the driver shouted at us that we couldn’t stand and had to go upstairs where the seats were soaking wet, it was exposed to the rain and the stairs and passageway were slippy. We didn’t want to get soaked through so went back down where we were rudely shouted at by the driver. We pointed out that upstairs was really dangerous but he wouldn’t listen and we weren’t near another stop. I understand why they have the rule that everyone must be seated but…..IF the driver had waited initiallly before he took off and ensured that everyone had a seat we would have gotten off and waited. I was so disappointed because I had been on a Hop On - Hop Off bus in New York a few years ago and really enjoyed the experience. However, this was a nightmare.

Don't do it. - Definitely do not recommend. The bus was horribly overbooked. They advertise that a bus comes every 15 minutes- we waited for one for an hour (in the 90 degree sun). At another stop we had to let several busses pass up by b/c they were already full. Two of the busses we were on didn't have working speaker in the seats so we didn't get to hear the tour. Total waste of money and time. We eventually just gave up and took the subway places. The company representatives working at each station only wanted to sell more tickets- didn't want or know how to answer questions if you'd already booked. (I'm assuming they work on commission.)
