A pleasant museum with wide ranging exhibits - We mainly wanted to keep out of the rain so headed for this museum which was easy to find although the guide book which had advised free entry was proved wrong when we bought tickets. We enjoyed the pre-history area which has some amazing objects from the Bronze Age including a long boat and preserved bodies from the bog. The evidence of human sacrifice freaked me out a bit, however the Sun chariot, a metal sculpture from over 3,500 years ago was amazing. There were rune stones with the runes picked out in red paint which made me think of the Robin Hobbs novels for fans of fantasy. The stories of the colonies were less interesting to us and the Middle Ages and Renaissance but that’s just personal preference. I did learn that bricks were invented through the process of Church building including the use of Flemish bond which is used to this day in brick-laying. The cafe had high quality drinks as you expect from Denmark.
