Highlights
  • Roebling Murals on the Floodwalls of Covington, KY - Our first stop will be the Covington Floodwall where you will browse the beautiful murals and learn about the gruesome history of the Garner Family Murder, as well as the history of the Underground Railroad here.

  • George Rogers Clark Park - Our second stop will be George Rogers Clark Park, where you will view the statue of Steamboat Captain Mary Greene, and learn about her ghostly appearances to ship captains and crew members on the Ohio River.

  • BB Riverboats - You will view BB Riverboats, former site of the Newport Army Barracks during the Civil War. And you will learn about one couple’s terrifying encounter with the ghosts of long-dead soldiers.

  • Covington - Our fourth stop will be at the Thomas Carneal mansion, the oldest house in Covington. You will learn about a suicide and the hauntings of “the Grey Lady”.

  • Covington - We will visit the old Riverview Hotel, site of another bloody (and botched) suicide.

  • Covington - We will visit the old Booth Memorial Hospital, where local police had a terrifying, ghostly encounter, and where some residents today still report ghostly encounters with nurses. And you’ll be shocked to discover what’s in the morgue!

  • Covington - We will visit the Amos Shinkle house, where you will learn about one of Covington’s oldest and wealthiest citizens. But what is lurking in the old carriage house will send tingles up and down your spine!

  • Covington - We will visit The Rugby, formerly the Henry Bruce mansion, where you will hear a story about a ghostly encounter dating all the way back to the Civil War.

  • Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center - We will visit the Baker-Hunt House, former home of Dr. William Hunt, his wife Margaretta Baker, and their daughter Katie. You will learn about the terrible tragedy that befell the family in this house, the seances that took place here, and the ghostly appearances that have occurred on the property ever since.

  • Covington - We will visit Molly Malone’s Irish pub, formerly the old Hermes Building, where you will learn about a grisly double murder that took place here, along with some of the ghostly encounters that servers and bartenders still experience to this day. Stick around for a pint after the tour ends, or follow your guide back to the tour starting point. The choice is yours!

If so, the Covington Haunted History tour is just what you need! Prepare yourself for 2 hours filled with spine-chilling stories about Covington’s haunted past! This tour delves into some of the darkest and most macabre tales of the city, from the ghostly apparitions of slaves, ship captains, and Civil War soldiers, to some of the most gruesome true crime stories of murders and suicides that will surely send shivers down your spine and make your hair stand on end! NOTE: This is a walking tour, so please wear comfortable walking shoes. The route is approximately 2 miles long. For those unable to walk the distance, a driving tour option is available, but this must be arranged at the time of booking (not on the day of the tour) by calling us.

  • NOTE: The tour is wheelchair and stroller accessible. However, there is one stretch of sidewalk on 2nd street that is a bit steep, so pushing a wheelchair or stroller up the incline sidewalk may be a bit challenging for some travelers.

Tours meet on the River Center pier at the end of Madison Avenue in between the Riverfront Marriott hotel and the Embassy Suites hotel (behind of Honey Uninhibited restaurant). The best place to park is in the Rivercenter Garage.

We went on this tour on a... - We went on this tour on a very cold and rainy evening, but even the weather couldn't stop us from enjoying ourselves! We got to see many historic buildings and hear not only their history but also any ghostly stories associated with them.

Awesome & Unique Experience - Chris was awesome!! He was extremely knowledgeable and you could tell he was passionate about the content he was speaking about. This was a very unique experience and I will definitely be seeking out more historical tours like this one. If you are a fan of history and/or the supernatural, you will enjoy this tour.

A Cool & Creepy Stroll - The perfect combination of cool history & creepy ghost stories! The murals on the flood wall are beautiful & moving. The stories of Steamboat Captain Mary & the Gray Lady were especially intriguing. Booth Memorial Hospital is haunted for sure!! Chris is so knowledgeable & Covington provided the perfect venue for a lovely afternoon stroll.
