Additional Information

Souq Waqif serves as an exhibition of traditional architecture, local handicrafts, and folk art. Previously, it was a weekend marketplace for the Bedouins. As the only traditional souq left in the Gulf, it has now transformed into a delightful maze of narrow lanes where tourists can haggle and buy a broad array of goods.

A trip to one of the falcon shops offers a distinctive experience; some store owners let you photograph and touch the birds while giving you a run-through of the equipment and training process.

Cultural dance and music performances are a common sight, especially during celebrations, providing ample chances for authentic photography. Round off a day or an evening at the Souk with a delightful meal at a local eatery.

A must see when in Doha.. - If you ever visit Doha, don't miss to visit the Souk Waqif.. An evening stroll through the Souks with its hundreds of little shops is an unique event. The smell of spices and grilled food is everywhere. Don't miss, when there, to have dinner and one of the dozens of restaurants.

Doha Souk a must - The Doha Souk Waqif visit is a must. Stay over @ Doha and enjoy the excellent Souk culture combined with other Doha special affordable events. The shopping, for myself camel bunny & long sleeve jacket as well as leather belts & purse was memorable and still fits 100%.
