- Doune Castle - Doune Castle plays a leading role in season 1 as Castle Leoch. The 18th Century home of Colum Mackenzie and his clan. It also features in the 20th Century when Claire and Frank visit the ruins on a day trip.
- Linlithgow Palace - The palace again featured in season 1 as Wentworth Prison, where Jamie was imprisoned- also birth place of Mary Queen of Scots. See the fountain that flowed with wine when the Jacobite army led by Bonnie Prince Charlie arrived at the Palace., .
- Blackness Castle - Blackness Castle which featured in Season 1 and 2. Amazing custom tour! - Stuart was amazing from first contact online thru our tour!
I arranged a private tour with him to 3 castles in Outlander for my husband and I when our cruise ship stopped in Scotland 1 day. He created a timeline and itinerary specific for our ships times. My husband had no knowledge of Outlander before this and loved Stuart and truly enjoyed the whole day! Stuart even introduced us to a local Scottish beverage and had snacks for us for the day. He was a true pleasure and made our day in Scotland remarkable. I would highly recommend him- you will not be disappointed!

Tartan Tours Scotland/Viator —Stewart G. Outlander Tour - Our personal tour of Doune Castle, Blackness Castle, and Midhope Castle was absolutely charming and everything I had hoped for in touring the Outlander filming sites. Stewart, our guide, was amazing at pointing out historical facts and discussing Outlander storylines at each destination. He was kind enough to take pictures for our family so we would have quality photos of our trip. I fan-girled pretty hard at Midhope Castle (Lalybroch site) and could not get enough of the natural landscape of the outlying areas. For anyone that is a hardcore Outlander fan, this is definitely what you are looking for to have the ultimate Outlander experience.

Wonderful Outlander Tour with Tartan Tours - Our Outlander Tour day with Stewart Gunn of Tartan Tours was one of the highlights of our 12 day self tour of Scotland. Stewart brings not only humor and stories of Scottish history but tidbits of Outlander background as well to the tour. From "Castle Leoch" to "Fort William" to "Lallybroch" and "Inverness" we enjoyed every location while learning about the real folks that lived there as well as our favorite Fraser clan. Even the Scottish weather cooperated and bright sunshine and blue skies appeared as the day progressed. We highly recommend Stewart and Tartan Tours for not only a fun day but one rich with history, humor, laughter and joy while visiting the much loved sites of our Outlander family. If there was any disappointment it was not finding Jaime and Claire at home!

Fantastic easy, no fuss day out. - The whole day was a highlight. Although I live in Scotland I hadn't been to any of the locations on the tour.
Stewart's knowledge of the history of the various locations and there actual history was excellent, pointing out certain aspects of the buildings which clearly demonstrated that people did once occupy them.

Outlander tour - Where do I even start?! After all the planning that we did to prepare for this trip, Stewart's tour was absolutely the best! My Outlander heart was very full after seeing the special sites. I think my favorite was Midhope (Lallybroch) because that is where it all started with the Fraser family. Stewart's expertise in driving, sharing tidbits and stories were all wonderful. I highly recommend this tour!
