Pile Gate - This is the entrance to the Old Town and in the area between two gates you will find out about defence capabilities of the most heavily fortified city in Europe.
Also we will take a look at the map representing the damage done to the Old Town during the siege in the 1990’s and hear a few words about Croatian Independence War.
Stradun - In Old Town’s main street the guests will have opportunity to hear a story regarding most of stunning pieces of architecture present in the town itself.
St. Saviours church, Franciscan monastery with one of oldest working pharmacies in the world, a marvel of medieval engineering - Onofrio’s fountain and hear about stories, legends and ancient customs connected with each one.
Žudioska ulica - Zudioska or Jewish street offers an incredible story about religious coexistence, secret passageways and an uneasy relationship with foreign powers. The street also features one of oldest synagogues in Europe.
Luza Square - The centre of the Old Town was a witness to most important events in Dubrovnik History and features architecture from 15th to 18th centuries and is still the centre of Dubrovnik’s government. All shall be reviled - architecture, stories of rivalry, monuments to bribery and more.

Rector’s Palace - Centre of power, prison, treasury and astonishingly beautiful architecture with a ridiculous inception story and unlikely system of governing all wrapped in one. A treat to be sure
Dubrovnik Cathedral - A church dedicated to Mary and adorned with many statues none of which is Mary. A treasure of priceless items still kept within its walls with unlikely purpose, Richard the Lionheart and secrets of Dubrovnik origins. All of these are part of the very walls of Dubrovnik Cathedral waiting to be discovered by you.

This walking tour of Old Town will highlight everything that makes Dubrovnik special and will take you off the usual tourist path. If you’re looking for a “regular history tour” like those available in any city, there are plenty in town that offer that, but this isn’t one of them.
We’ll delve into the lives of the town’s ordinary people, their beliefs and customs, courting rituals, and their relationship with the ruling class. The tour will uncover Dubrovnik’s secrets, quirks, and unique problem-solving approaches, as the Dubrovnik Republic was the first to introduce numerous innovative concepts, many of which remain relevant today.
Architecture will also be discussed, but rather than just focusing on construction dates and architectural styles, we’ll share the stories behind each structure. For more information, I’ll see you at the meeting point.

Fascinating tour with a historical connection - Really enjoyed this tour - Davor is very knowledgeable about the complex history of Dubrovnik, and related it well to various landmarks as we walked through the city. Recommended.

Fascinating tour with lots of historical detail - Fascinating tour, Davor is well-versed in the complex history of Dubrovnik and picked out interesting highlights as we made our way through the city. Particularly recommended if you're a history buff like me and want more depth than the standard city tour.

The best walking city tour - We were greeted by Davor and joined by one other couple, so felt very much like a private tour. Davor was excellent throughout with amazing knowledge of not just Dubrovnik but the whole central European history. We are certainly much wiser now ! Local details and hints and tips on exploring the area were invaluable and helped shape our next few days. I recommend Davor’s tour as one of the most engaging we have been on amongst many city tours.

Great Informational Tour - Lots of interesting information on the history and a little bit of architecture in Dubrovnik. How it came to be and developed as a city and how it fared through the ages. We were a small group (lucky to be just the two of us but that isn't usual) so we could easily ask our questions and he always knew the answers. l Highly recommend.
