Essam, the best guide of Emo Egypt Tours - Essam was a great guide. Enjoyed the whole day tour. He explained the relevance of all the spots. Help us take excellent pictures like a pro photographer. Told us stories and histories. Very detailed and always concerned about us and our safety. Worth the value and more. Lunch was also great. Driver Mohammed was also very pollite and helpful. Will ask for him again when using Emo Tours. Highly recommended!

Spectacular journey - Madam Zainab is a responsible tour guide. She has searched and waited for us even though our hotel is difficult to be located. It was a relaxing trip enjoying the spectacular view of the pyramids and sphinx.

Definitely go with this guide and driver - Thanks to the guide and driver, they both are fun people. Guide is very welcoming and relaxed, he is very cool so we get to do things in our pace. We enjoyed learning from him. He explained lot of things. They played very nice Arabic music, we had fun listening to that. Overall we had fun and relaxing experience. I hired lot of drivers and guides during but this driver and guide are the best I would say.

Good value but say no to the unadvertised extra stops - We booked the tour as a private party of 9, the car and the guide only. Overall, it was a good tour, not very good, but good. We started with the pyramids and sphinx, which felt very rushed tbh. I think we spent less than 30 minutes up close to the pyramids, which I am really regretful about. Then we drove away for a panoramic view and camel ride. The camel ride, was about $10 for 30 minutes and was the highlight. Our guide Ehab, wasn't keen on us stopping to get close to the Sphinx, and only did so as we pushed for it. After this we stopped for a 'coffee' at a local perfume factory, which was a hard sell and complete waste of 45 minutes I will never get back. No rush here from the guide, interestingly enough, and not advertised as part of the tour. We then stopped for lunch at a local buffet, good value, good food, nice vibe (we paid separately for this, approx $8-9 pp). After we went on to Memphis and Saqqara. Memphis museum was grand and interesting, many artefacts. Second largest sphinx in Egypt is there. Saqqara was beautiful in the late afternoon. We went inside the pyramid here, not for the claustrophobes among us, narrow tunnels and rooms. Nothing to see so much, once you've done it, you wouldn't need to do it again. On route home, I told the guide we wanted to go straight to the hotel, but he said the papyrus shop was en route as was the Egyptian cotton shop. The papyrus was ok, still more expensive than others we visited later in our travels. The cotton shop was another waste of time. They were not en route to our hotel. I would advise Emo Tours as great value, but not so great with the additions, that I would have declined had I been asked, and actually did try and decline, but was fobbed off. Definitely tell them ahead of time not to stop at these extras as I think they're hard sells, over inflated prices and cut in to your actual tour time, when you could be enjoying the sights.

Convenient travel, nice guy, but not for a history enthusiast - We were able to do the trip as we pleased, starting at Saqqara and then proceeding to Giza. We did it this way because we read online a main hall closed at 12pm there. We didn't know that the Giza Kufu Pyramid entrance closed at 12pm, until 1 pm, but luckily that was no issue for us we had decided not to go inside. The tour guide thankfully told us that we must buy the tickets for the main Pyramid along with several admission at the gate before entering. We didn't know though that the same applied for both the smaller Pyramids, so we feel we missed out there. At Saqqara, we saw the Pyramid of Djoser, but didn't get to go inside. I later read that it was a possibility, so we feel we really missed out there too. We booked a tour so we didn't need to do too much research but as the tour is fast paced and you won't get to see the important parts, unless asking to, we feel it didn't suit the purpose. He was good at organising a camel and recommending the stores etc though. He was a nice guy, trying to make a living, if he studied more and advised on entering Djoser etc he would be recommendable. A few days later, I paid 500 at the entry of Karnak and the guide there gave me 1.5 hours of extremely in-depth Egyptology. We barely entered the temple within that time. That made us realise that there are really are levels to this game.

More time needed at places - Our guide was more focused on taking us to factories for selling cheaper Papyrus paintings, perfume and cotton for expensive. We barely got 30 mins at Giza Pyramids and I was so disappointed, so when we reached Sphinx, I had to tell the Guide to slow down. Less selling and more history would have been nice. We travel thousands of miles and spent so much for the place not for cheap perfumes

Day tour - At first we didn't want to write a review as there was nothing outstanding to say but the more time passes the more unsatisfied we feel about the tour. The guide was rushing us through the whole area, especially around the pyramids, we barely could see anything or enjoy the view. It made us feel very anxious and we haven't even come close to the third pyramid. Also the Sphinx visit was the bare minimum and it felt like begging to extend for brief photo session. The guide could speak quickly and fluently, but with the strong accent and without caring if we understood, so we learnt little to nothing about the history. We had a brief chat with him about modern life of Cairo which was nice and the driver & car were good. But overall the day felt like complete rush without time for photos and digesting impressions. We feel so sad about missing the chance to learn many facts about this amazing place. Even the Cairo City tour with another guide, we did on the following day, gave us so much more insights about ancient Egypt.
