Off the beaten path gem - Stewart with Tartan tours was friendly and professional, answered all communication quickly and was a lot of fun. We originally had little interest in the Kelpies, just the wheel however once Stewart gave us the background and then we saw them, we were blown away. A real eye opener and he knew the best places to get the best pictures. The Falkirk wheel did not disappoint!! A true engineering marvel and a great experience seeing it work and then taking the ride which was Stewart’s suggestion. The lunch items served at the site were quite tasty and quick. Great value for the money.

Morning with Stewart and the Kelpies! - What a wonderful, informative and fun day we spent with Stewart at the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. What a treat to have a taste of Irn bru as we traveled over the Scottish roadways! We never felt rushed and the photo ops provided great memories of this experience. I brought a Sunday Today Show mug with me to take pictures... Stewart was excited to get in the act!

A Visit to the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel - We had time before the start of our Scotland tour, so we researched options and saw the great reviews for Tartan Tours. We were not disappointed. Stewart was the best introduction we could have asked for to the lovely people and interesting sites near Glasgow. I would highly recommend him as a guide for your touring needs. Outstanding Day Trip From Edinburgh! - This is an outstanding day trip from Edinburgh!! The Old City is great, but here you will see fantastic examples of "modern" Scotland. The Kelpies are beautiful 30-meter high stainless steel sculptures, artistically moving and technologically astounding. The Falkirk Wheel has to be seen in person to be experienced (we first saw it on a TV travel show). A Ferris wheel for boats, it is an amazing engineering wonder, yet based on an ancient principle (you will learn all about it when you ride it). And, it is a ton of fun! You'll also tour the 500-year old Linlithgow Palace, set in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Now, a few words about Stewart, the owner/operator. He is entirely trustworthy and reliable. We booked this tour and sent a deposit before the pandemic. Three years later, he remembered us and honored the deposit. He was punctual and his timing was perfect, to both see the wheel in action and ride it. He knows his topics and history. Plus, he is a very nice guy with a sunny disposition who truly enjoys his work! This private tour is well worth the money!

Great start to a visit to Scotland - When I signed up for this tour, it was the Falkirk Wheel I was interested in, and the Kelpies not at all. But I loved both parts of this trip, and Stewart was a wonderful guide, very friendly and easy to get along with, and very knowledgable. The Kelpies really are magnificent when you see them in person. It seems to be a trend for me that I end up really liking the part of a trip that I was not too pscyed about. I've just returned from Scotland, and the day we spent with Stewart was one of the best days of our two week trip.

Well worth it! - The trip to Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies was a highlight of my trip to Scotland. The whole trip from start to finish was easy to plan and Stewart was very prompt in all communication. He arranged a boat trip as part of the experience, just so we didn't miss out. We even had an additional treat of seeing a boat use the locks! Loved the whole experience!

Must visit while in Scotland! - Excellent day trip with Stewart for our party of 3 people. Stewart's a true professional - from the initial communication through the conduct of the tour, we felt well-looked after. His knowledge and expertise meant that we could sit back and just enjoy the tour as he'd organized everything including the tickets for the Falkirk wheel boat.
