Great Tour of Freiburg - John did a great job showing us around Freiburg and explaining the history. Afterwards I felt like I really knew my way around.

Great way to learn about Freiburg - Wonderful tour. John is excellent. My only regret is I did not do this on my first day in the city. Found places I had not found on my own and the knowledge he had was enlightening. Time well spent!

Long weekend away, Shoppings W.E.. - Beautiful city, many sights, shopping city. Nice terraces and many nice restaurants, something for everyone and to suit everyone's budget.

Pleasure visit - The city is very beautiful and easy to visit with bars and taverns with a good atmosphere and good beer in addition to very good food.

Enthousiastic guide - Very enthousiastic guide. He took more time for us. Nice story about the farmers market and sizes . Hé was punctual.

city of art and history - Very beautiful university town, lively and commercial. A little bit classic and “trendy” at the same time. Beautiful monuments and plenty of “riches” for shopping enthusiasts.

Unfortunate Timing - The Tour guide gave me a fast reply even though I booked this tour one day before very late in the evening. Unfortunately there was a big parade on the day of the guide, so we were not able to complete it. I received part of the expense back.

Beautiful, fascinating city, Knowledgeable Guide - incompetent Viator. - I booked the tour for our first day in Freiburg, we turned up a little early, but no tour guide. I checked my phone and the confirmation email was there, sent 3 days earlier, confirming the location, the language of the guide (English) and giving a description of the guide. I sent a text to the phone number and was called a little later by John who explained that he doesn't work Monday's or Tuesday's - they are his days off. He offered to cancel his plans and give us the tour later that day - but after some discussion we agreed to join his Wednesday tour. He then sent a conformation text with his actual description (different from Viator's) The tour follows a route around the old city of Freiburg, John is interested in history and knows all the names and dates, understands the history of the city and had anecdotes to go with most of the buildings. His tour answered many if not all of the questions we had had going round by ourselves two days earlier and included optional extensions should we be interested in other parts of the city also. John is a knowledgeable guide who has a clear affection for his adoptive city. Viator however appears to be incompetent - offering dates that should not have been offered. I do not know that I would book through Viator again.
