Penang history through the eyes of a local - Our tour guide Ang was our tour guide for the Penang Heritage Walking tour. He showed us Penang through the eyes of a local with great experience about what Penang had to offer from a historical perspective. I would certainly recommend to book Ang for this tour to learn more about beautiful Penang

Excellent Ang. Knowledgeable guide to this very well kept UNESCO location. From the Chinese clan dynasties to street art - Excellent guide, multicultural experience: history, religion, street art. Great explanation of the Chinese clan system and trading houses and jetties, the British influence and legacy, the preservation of buildings and artefacts of heritage value. Well paced, around 11,000 steps over 3 hours.

A guide to seeing, leaning and understanding - I loved the experience of seeing George Town while learning about its diverse community and remarkable history. For me having na guide made all the difference as I heard stories about place as ai was seeing them and had an opportunity to ask questions. I particularly liked seeing the mosques during Ramadan and hearing about Penang Chinese customs while in secret society locales and magnificent homes. Muhammad was a superb guide.

Private George Town UNESCO Heritage Walking Tour - Terrific experience with our guide. He arrived at the hotel to meet us early. He showed us historical sites and explained the history behind what we were seeing. He was generous with his time and interesting to be with. He changed track and moved from walking to driving when one of us experiences some difficulties with the heat. I highly recommend this walking tour.

Penang Heritage Experience - We enjoyed learning about the history and culture of Penang. Our guide , James, was very knowledgeable and interesting . He tailored the tour to our needs and was willing to add some extra time. He also included a local food stop that was much appreciated.

Great guide but average tour - Mohammed was a really good guide - 5 stars for him. Unfortunately, the tour he was assigned to give was not what we expected or wanted. The walking tour was only the 1st half of the tour. The other half was being driven outside of Georgetown to the shops that sell only to tourists where we felt pressured to buy things - batik, white coffee, chocolate and finally... amber (that we didn't buy). It's too bad because the walking tour was interesting. We enjoyed walking out onto the jetty and seeing some of the street art.

Nice guide but average experience - The guide was very nice but the tour was sub-par. There was no narrative provided in the tour and very little context was shared in framing the historical spots we visited. It felt like the guide was mostly pointing out random facts at random spots in the city.

Little of real interest here - There is little to see here. Our travel consultant said this would likely be a dud because cruise ships use this stop to resupply. Went through their z Chinatown which is identical to all Chinatowns you’ve ever seen. The street food did not look appetizing and I would never take a chance on risking sickness. Again, a big waste of time. Don’t bother.
