Additional Information

Hoa Lu houses the remnants of the old capital, Hoa Lu, including iconic temples venerating King Dinh and King Le. These revered figures from the 10th century selected Hoa Lu as the site for their regal city’s fortress. Now and again, archaeologists unearth vestiges of the fortress, discovering rusty artifacts and earthenware. The claim is that these temples were constructed upon the previous foundations of their palaces from the 11th and 12th centuries, and were refurbished in the 17th century. Hoa Lu is roughly 4km from Tam Coc, also known as the ‘Three Caves’ or the ‘Inland Halong Bay’.
