Weaving in San Juan La Laguna - We attended a weaving class in the village at a place called Tinte Maya, a cooperative of women artisans. The ladies helped us make beautiful scarves in a lovely patio setting. They were so patient with us! It was a really great experience

Fun Experience - It was very fascinating to go into the communities of the various Mayan societies. It was a good boat ride across Lake Atitlan. Panajchel and the Santiago Village were each full of culture and history. During this journey we happened to spend a lot of time with street vendors and dining venues with the objective of returning business to the community which I appreciate. It was a good excursion, however, I would have enjoyed a little more history or direct interaction with members of the Mayan culture.
