Additional Information

Guilin, famed globally due to its numerous formations of limestone hills and caverns, has a fascinating history attached to it. Geological studies trace its roots back to being a part of the ocean bed around 300 million years in the past. Approximately 200 million years prior, the ocean bed was replete with limestone deposits.

During the gradual tectonic shifts, the seabed ascended and transformed into dry land. This led to the formation of all the limestone hills, caverns and rivers, due to the erosion caused by rainwater and subterranean water, characterizing the karst formation in this phase of Guilin’s evolution. A trip to Guilin would essentially be incomplete without exploring the numerous awe-inspiring caves it offers. Not to be missed among these are the

Reed Flute Cave, and Crown Cave.

Reed Flute Cave - Interesting cave system in Guilen China. The cave is well lit with colored lights and a tour guides takes 30-40 people along the tour. It doesn't take long to do the tour, less than an hour. We walked this including a one year.
