Additional Information

Experience the majestic presence of the earth’s giants and observe their eating, drinking, and playful antics. These adorable creatures roam about three national parks in their quest for sustenance and hydration so we’ll take you to the park most favored on the day of your Safari (either Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Hurulu Eco), based on the data we’ve collected in the preceding days.

If your journey overlaps with the gathering season, which spans July through September, we can guarantee sightings of over 100 elephants during this wonderful interaction. Occasionally, you may even be fortunate enough to see about 400 elephants.

In addition to these majestic mammals, you might also spot other animal species.

We make sure to provide you with bottled water, a light snack, and a refreshing drink for your Safari.

This company are brilliant - highly recommend booking with them. - Great communication right from booking with this company, including details of our driver name and jeep number plate a few days before our trip. We were collected from our hotel on time and after a short drive arrived at the entrance to the National Park. Samira (our driver) organised entrance to the park and we set off. He was extremely knowledgeable, not only about the elephants but also other wildlife we saw. We saw lots of elephants, the first few within minutes of entering the park and were able to get quite close to some of them in the truck. It was amazing to see so many in their natural habitat, we even saw a baby elephant who Samira told us was about a year old. Samira kept stopping to point out other wildlife too, we saw chameleon, a king fisher, a bee catcher, some peacocks, a Jungle fowl (the national bird of Sri Lanka) and could hear brown headed Berbets all around the jungle area. On the way home we were really lucky to drive alongside a bull elephant who was walking on the side of the road before he crossed over. We also stopped by a lake where saw many different birds while eating some water melon provided by Samira before he dropped us back at our hotel. It was an amazing trip, worth every penny and I would absolutely recommend others to book this one.

Good guide, lots of elephants - Our driver picked us up on time from our home stay in Sigiriya. He was very friendly guide. My wife and I like birding, the guide was very knowledgeable on birds and animals. We were given water a d at the end of the safari he gave us some fresh water melon. We were also kept upto date on our safari by the company before the date. Over all very good experience.

Excellent jeep safari trip to see the elephants in their natural habitat - We had an excellent experience on our jeep safari and it has been one of the stand out moments of our trip so far. Mr Samira our guide was friendly, and gave us lots of information during our safari as we traveled around the national park. He pointed out other animals and birds alongside the 100+ elephants we saw during our afternoon trip. There was plenty of time to sit and watch from the jeep and we were not rushed to move on. We also had binoculars we could use to look at the elephants and other wildlife in greater detail. On our journey back to our hotel we stopped next to the river for some complimentary watermelon which was a nice surprise and welcomed after a hot afternoon! All in all it was an unforgettable experience. Just to add that communication with the jeep safari operator Merganser holidays was also excellent. Confirmation via WhatsApp on booking, confirmation again of collection time and driver a couple of days before together with confirmation of driver arrival on the day of the tour. We would highly recommend them and their keep safari driver/tracker.

Surpasses all expectations! - This was a fantastic trip that exceeded my expectations. Our guide Samira was very knowledgeable and he was very sensitive to when we wanted to stop and watch or to move on. The scenery was very open and beautiful and the elephants were amazing- we saw over 100 in several groups. Samira also spotted many different animals and birds such as langur, purple faced monkey, eagle, kingfisher and storks, that we would not have otherwise seen. He provided chilled water bottles and sliced watermelon that kept us refreshed! All in all it was a truly memorable trip! Highly recommended

Private Safari Kaudulla National Park - I really enjoyed my private jeep safari! My guide/tracker was very experienced and super friendly. He had a good eye for details and small animals including chameleons, birds, and monkeys. We also saw many elephants during the safari in Kaudulla National Park and I was very happy that my guide stopped at great spots so I could enjoy the scenery (and take some amazing photos, of course). He also knew when it was time to go back and to leave the elephants alone (a thunderstorm came up) which I really appreciated. Thank you again for this wonderful experience in Sri Lanka!

The guide had an eye for showing us the animals and allowed us to do the circuit without there being too many jeeps around it. - We did this safari which gave us a lot of emotion, happiness and joy. The guide Sumira was able to share her passion with us with great competence. We thought it was great

A fantastic experience! - Guide was incredibly helpful and explained things really well. We were lucky enough to see a large herd of elephants and the guide went out of his way to facilitate this. Removing one star as unfortunately one of the seats in the jeep was broken, which meant the chair back did not stay upright. Otherwise, was a fantastic experience.

Lots of elephants but jeeps crowding animals.. - In terms of what people come to see , Elephants, this delivered, lots and lots of elephant sightings. But there were a couple of ocassions when the number of jeeps virtually encircling elephants did not feel comfortable. To be fair our guide moved on when we told him and moved away from the jam of jeeps. The problem with a tipping culture, rather than paying drivers a good flat rate is they will push and jostle other vehicles to get the " best view" and tips. If you are over 5'7 tall you may find views when seated restricted by rolled up blinds. We mentioned this a couple of times. Eventually, we got guide to stop and he used cable that he had to tie them up. This is a very easy fix and perhaps one safar company could just do? This makes us sound like moany people, we are not! We went on another safari with Wildhideaway hotel in Wilpattu and although we saw fewer sightings the guide and experience was much better.

Mixed Feelings on the All-Inclusive Private Safari in Minneriya National Park - I recently took part in an elephant tour that unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations, leading to a two-star rating. Firstly, the price for the tour seemed excessively high compared to the value received. The condition of our jeep was subpar, not really up to the standard for such a tour. While the park’s overcrowding isn’t something the tour operator can control, it did impact the overall experience. Communication with the tour organizers was good, which is a plus. However, the knowledge of the guides was surprisingly lacking, with incorrect information being provided (such as the presence of iguanas, which are not found there). Our jeep breaking down mid-tour, though quickly resolved with a replacement vehicle, raised concerns about the maintenance and quality of the transportation used. While I appreciate the efforts made for communication and quick problem-solving, the overall experience was underwhelming considering the price and expectations.
