- Kleifarvatn Lake - Pick up at your hotel around 9.00 AM, or meet us at bus stop number 8, next to Hallgrímskirkja church, at 9.20 AM. We will start our journey by driving through a thrilling lava field on our way to the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Kleifarvatn Lake: We will drive past Lake Kleifarvatn, which is formed solely by plate tectonics and rifting of the Earths crust from the Eurasian and North American plates.
Seltún: Seltún is a beautifully coloured geothermal area. The geothermal activity brings bubbling mud pools and colorful solfataras right up to the surface. The beautiful colours are due to sulphur as well as white and yellowish brown sulphates that have been deposited.
