Highlights
  • Corinth Canal - The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. The canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships.
From high up, you can enjoy the best view of Corinth’s isthmus and admire the steep limestone walls while you observe the vessels below you navigate their way through the canal.

Fascinating and relaxing tour. - Our guide, Fotis was excellent as he was very personable and very informative. The tour was excellent as we were able to see a lot outside of Athens in a very short time and thus have a better appreciation of the diversity of Greece’s history.

Excellent driver makes a difference - It is impossible to see all three exceptional town or archaeological sites in a day without an excellent driver from the Athens Tour. Spiros is very professional, well-mannered and knowledgeable tour manager and driver to us. We highly recommend this private tour to family as you can travel at your own pace and privacy.

Lovely trip - We absolutely loved every moment of our trip to Mycenae. A very big thank you to Costa our driver for the day. He was very kind and gentle with my 10 year old. He even stopped and picked an orange for us to try on our way to Nafplio. This is a self guided tour, but Costa was very informative of the locations we were going to visit for the day.

Many sites to see - I traved with my family who ranged in age from 20 to 76. The tour allowed us to see lots of amazing sites that were fairly far from Athens, and our driver Panos was very knowledgable and friendly. The sites themselves were defintely worth seeing, especially Mycenae and Epidarus. Just make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes. We had a lovely lunch in Nafplio at a restaurant recommended by Panos and they were able to accomondate the vegetarians in our group. I highly recommend this tour!

Unexpected gold mine - A last minute addition to my Greek holiday, might be my favorite so far… To walk in the footsteps of Perseus , something fables and epic poems are made of…. Great job by the guide weaving the story of mythology, historical knowledge and archaeology. Just brilliant!! Soo well put, expressed, and enthusiastic. The lunch break in the seaside village where we were set free to roam and explore. Summiting the 1000 castle steps, dipping into the Aegean, and having just enough time to sip on a local red wine. Also grabbed a couple ideas for where to stay when I return. Epidarus I was ignorant about and left feeling like it had stole the show. A nice sunny day walking through the ruins of the forest imaging the hospice and healing tonics that were inspired here. The amphitheater with its perfect acoustics! I can only imagine what a summer show would be like!
