Highlights
  • Alpha Bank - Meet your guide at the Alpha Bank (old taxi station) of Pigadia early in the morning at 8am. We start at this hour to avoid the summer-heat.

This adventure leads you just outside of the city of Pigadia, following the path to the Agia Kyriaki chapel. You walk passed old stavlos and olive fields while overlooking the Aegean sea and spotting all the Southern villages while you reach the higher part of the walk.

The Agia Kyriaki chapel is open for a visit and offers a great set-up for a break in the shade. Passing through the pine tree forest, you find several lovely views of the Eastern coast by Pigadia unfolding right in front of you.

Once leaving the pine tree forest path you will find yourself back in Pigadia around 11:30am.

The guide stops frequently for photo opportunities and the walking pace is not high. The walk takes about 3,5 hours. It is a challenging walk, with a steep ascent or descent.

Agia Kyriaki Walk - I have had the pleasure of taking three guided walks with Renate from Art & Walk, and each walk exceeded my expectations. Renate's guidance led us through beautiful natural landscapes while providing a wealth of information about the local flora, fauna and inhabitants of the island. Her passion for the environment and community is reflected in her compelling stories. I highly recommend Art & Walk! Advice: shoes with a good profile.

Friendly professionalism - This was more than a walk with a professional tour guide. Renate not only knows all about everyday life in Karpathos, herbs, diving, Karpathian history and culture. She is 100 % committed in a warm and friendly way and so eager to make you understand Karpathos. I strongly recommend you to take part of what Art and Walk offers. You might even end up drinking sage tea with new friends next to the prettiest greek church!

Challenging and very nice walk - We were lucky to have this walk alone with Renate, just the three of us. It was a very nice walk/climb up the mountain and into the forrest. Renate tells a lot of interesting facts about the nature and the island. And she is also very interested in hearing about you. We enjoyed every moment, even though it was quite a challenging walk. Sticks are needed!
