Great Fun! - A must-do for any visit to Kilkenny! In the land of Hurling, Kilkenny is the epicenter of the sport. James gave us a brief history of the sport and it's rules before leading us out of the locker room to get hands on with some hurls and sliotars. James taught us the basic techniques and after several drills we were ready to take on the world! I'm excited to play some more as soon as the hurls we purchased at the Kilkenny Design Center arrive.

Hand's-on hurling experience - Such a fun time! A great hand's-on experience. It would be a really enjoyable for a family activity but we, a couple in our 60's, had a blast too!

Learning about Hurling - We were on a Trafalgar Amazing Ireland tour when we visited Hurling Tours Ireland on 15 May 2024. We knew very little about the sport of hurling but they explained the game and that the players are not paid, also the pride of playing for the team in the county you are born. They then gave us a demonstration and try out. It was a lot of fun and everyone was made welcome to have a go. We enjoyed this and were very impressed with the time these people give to their clubs. Best Family Activity in & around Kilkenny! - Our family of 5 were looking to do something for a change of pace while we were visiting Kilkenny. Setting up the Hurling lesson with James was seamless, he was quick to respond to coordinate. When we met James and his wife we knew it was the best excursion to be had. Our family has a sports background with Lacrosse and hurling seemed to be a fun crossover. The history and meaning of hurling was awesomely explained by James, which was fascinating. Then we headed out to the field where the actual teaching of the technique began. James connected with our 5 yo, 7 yo, 12 yo, and us parents equally! We had such a great time, James even allowed us to borrow the Hurls and sliotors(balls) to play on our own once the lesson was complete. In the end this was one the most memorable times in Ireland. I would say this is a must for anyone that wants to experience the Irish culture and play the National sport with a great, passionate host with a deep appreciation and love for the hurling game, players and history. We will definitely be back!

Every traveller to Kilkenny needs this break in their itinerary! - What a perfect addition to the itinerary - just as I thought the kids had seen as many castles, ruins and museums as they could handle in Ireland, we did this tour and had a blast to break up the history. What a pro - he knew how to handle uncoordinated mothers, hot shot kids and testy teens with patience and skill- this guys gotta have been coaching his whole life. He taught us the fundamental skills of the game and kept us laughing the whole time - if you need any more of a testimonial, the kids bought a Hurley stick and slioter the next day to take home to keep working on their form and as cross training for baseball and hockey back home in Canada. Do not miss it - one of the highlights of our whole trip!

Meeting the Sliotar - Taking a hurling lesson with my family was an incredible experience! Our coach was highly skilled and passionate about the sport. He broke down the techniques in a way that's easy to understand and we all had opportunities to practice in an atmosphere that was always positive and encouraging, which makes learning fun. My grandson spent much of our remaining time in Ireland looking for opportunities to practice his new skills. I highly recommend hurling lessons to anyone interested in trying something new and exciting!

Two London boys try their hand at Hurling - Myself and my brother signed up for the Hurling Exeperince as a part of a trip to research our family from Kilkenny. We had a great time on the experience and learn't about the game of hurling and then tried out some of the skills and techniques of Hurling. We would thoroughly recommend the hurling experience and say thanks to James for making this a memorable part of our visit to Kilkenny,

Hurling is such fun! - This is an amazing experience. All skill levels! James made sure we mastered a few moves. He stops and takes pictures of you. Also movies of your new moves. You get such fun and a lasting memory. Don't hesitate to book this!!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! - James was an exceptional “coach” and teacher! He was patient and encouraging. We arrived with no hurling experience. James explained key aspects of the game. Demonstrated and taught us techniques and then had us practice these techniques. My husband and I are in our mid/late 40s and believe me when I say “if I can do it then anyone can do it!” A truly unique experience that will be a top highlight of our vacation to Ireland. James also took great photos and videos so we can show our teenagers when we return to the United States. I wish I could give this MORE than 5 stars!

Amazing experience!!!! - We were a group of 43 French students 15-18 yrs old and 4 adult supervisors and we had an amazing experience. Coaches and staff were so attentive and brought lots of fun to this very cultural experience. We also had lunch in the clubhouse. Food and staff were excellent.
