Knossos Archaeological Site - A visit to the Minoan Palace of Knossos. Knossos is probably the most famous excavation site in Crete and one of the best known in Europe. The Minoan Palace, the home of legendary King Minos, had an estimated 1300-1400 rooms and was excavated and partly reconstructed by Sir Arthur Evans in 1900.
