Trip to Mount Pilatus - This is a beautiful trip to take. Did a self tour from Zurich to Lucerne, walked the old town and walked to Mt. Pilatus ticketing office. Get tickets reserved earlier and you should be good to go. The gondola, Fräkmüntegg, then cable car all the way to the top. Some of the attractions at Fräkmüntegg were closed due to rain. It was a clear day and was able to climb up the stairs to the top and view the mountain. The stairs are not that strong so need to be careful. Then took the Funicular back down to Kriens. Then took train to Zurich. Worth it and was peaceful and beautiful.

The views! - Oh my goodness, this was a highlight of our two week trip to Germany Austria and Switzerland. It’s easy to get to the top (cable car & ski lift) and once there, the views are absolutely amazing! It was busy but not crowded since there’s a few places to enjoy the view. There’s a nice restaurant and gift shop too.

Don’t miss the toboggan ride about halfway up using the cable car.Great fun. - We were there in May and we spent one day doing this with lunch at the hotel, outside, at the top. There is a round trip ticket on the gondola which has two stops going and coming. Your ticket is needed at each entrance and exit. The cog train wasn’t running due to snow. At the suggestion of the ticket person we stopped first at the roddlebahn - sleds going down a metal slide, like a toboggan. About $10 each, great fun. Then we got back on the cable car to the top. Outside the typical tourist shop and eating at the top is a hotel with inside and outside seating. We had drinks and shared fries. Beautiful view. Saw a paraglider take off from the top.

Great day trip from Zurich to Lucerne - You have to know that part of the excursion, if you are not staying in Lucerne, is to get to Mount Pilatus, when you get to the city (I arrived by train from Zurich so I am going to tell it from my own experience) from Zurich take a train less than an hour to Lucerne, when I got off the train I had to take a bus that took me to where you have to walk a few hundred meters to get to the entrance to Mount Pilatus, once at the entrance, you pay the ticket they give you The right to use the cable cars to go up to the top and to go down again to the entrance, the cost is approximately 55 euros. There is a first level that is a space for picnics and there are simple games ideal for going with the family to enjoy this natural space, and the next stop is the top where there are some impressive viewpoints, as well as a restaurant that at that time At the time it was closed and a Pilatus souvenir shop, even though I went in mid-April 2024, there was quite a bit of snow, it was a sunny day but you can see that it had snowed on previous days, there were great views of the surrounding area and towards Lucerne , I definitely recommend doing this activity, whether you are in Lucerne or if you are in a nearby city and can travel to Lucerne, do it, definitely a great option to visit within Switzerland.

Great day - Amazing! All the way up in the cable cars was so breathtaking with the beautiful view of Luzern city, the lake and the mountains with beautiful landscapes, the walking to the peak though it was so windy and cold but it was worth it!! Walking in the cave is also a must!

Cable cars up 7000 feet - Holy cow this was fun! The cog railway was closed for the season and for refurbishing so we took the cable cars to the top. The first section is in a small car which seats up to four. Part of the way up, we stopped at a station to switch to a much larger car to travel to the summit. The cables up we at about a 45 degree angle, but the ride was smooth and not worrisome for my hates-heights self. There is a hotel at the top! Brave folks can ascend even further with stairs. This one of the best 2 or 3 excursions I have been on.

Floating view - In around 30 minutes, the cable car takes guests to Fränkmüntegg, where they can change to the "Dragon Ride" cable car. First, a leisurely float and then the breathtaking view. An excursion that is worthwhile at any time of year.

Poor - Very unsatisfactory quality/price ratio. The only advantage is the included entrance fees to the water park. Positive, the friendliness and availability of the Hotel staff

Even though I made a reservation and arrived before the departure time, I was not allowed to board the mountain train I had reserved. It was a very sad memory of Switzerland. - We made a reservation in advance for June 2023. We took the train from Luzern to PILATUS-BAHNEN at the recommended time, and presented the QR code of the ticket 5 minutes before the reservation time of the mountain train, but we were not allowed to pass through the gate, and the train departed right in front of us 3 minutes before the departure time. This was despite the fact that there were seats available on the mountain train. The young male staff member who checked the ticket said he didn't know why, and asked a veteran male staff member, but the veteran male staff member just looked at the tablet and shook his head without looking at us or the ticket. In the end, the young male staff member went to the ticket counter and brought it back to us with a changed QR code so that we could take the next train, but it was written that tickets cannot be exchanged, and I don't understand that either. We waited for more than 30 minutes to get on the next mountain train, and as soon as we arrived, we secured a seat on the return mountain train, and descended to Mt. Pilatus with less than 30 minutes of stay. The connection to the train to Luzern was bad, and we were able to run and get on, but some people missed it. I learned that traveling by train in Switzerland is very difficult. This was my only sad and painful memory in Switzerland.
