Noru E-bikes private tour - We did a private custom tour with four people with Michael. He took us to places that were not well-known, but just as amazing as some popular sites without the crowds (with the exception of Kinkakuji, which understandably is full of sightseeing visitors). He gave us historical information and interesting stories. We also had tea and a delicious snack, aburimochi, at a 1000 year old establishment. He made sure that we were safe from traffic as we cycled through the streets of Kyoto. He sent us an email later in the day about the places we went to with the information so that we can remember them! Our daughters who normally don’t particularly enjoy tours, enjoyed Michael’s immensely. Michael was knowledgeable, engaging, and funny. We would recommend this tour to our friends and family back home. Thanks Michael and Ross.

Best Way to See Kyoto - 100% Recommend! - We had booked the hidden gems of Kyoto e-bike tour and it didn’t disappoint! (So glad I booked it a month ago as it does sell out). Michael was so awesome and knowledgeable explaining every stop to us (we learned so much from him!). We explored temples, shrines, gardens, the geisha district, etc. The true highlights were the Golden Temple (pictures don’t do it justice!!!), tea at a place built in 1000 AD, and an amazing rock garden where it felt like we had a private viewing. Michael then took us to a hilltop shrine with views of the city. The weather was perfect. And the bikes?! So much fun to ride and you gotta try “volcano mode”! It really is a great way to see the sites. You won’t be disappointed.

A greatvway to see another side to Kyoto - We had a brilliant tour with Sean. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Kyoto and the sites we visited. He even had several recommendations post tour for food/things to do (including an excellent meal nearby!) The bikes themselves were great and well maintained. The only call out is that there is riding on public roads in case anyone is a little nervous about their riding proficiency. I would highly recommend this to others who are looking for something a little different to their Kyoto experience!

Guided e-bike tour of hidden Kyoto - Great e-bike tour lead by our wonderful guide Yuta who guided our group of 7 perfectly through some hidden parts of Kyoto. Yuta provided an entertaining and knowledgeable background to Kyoto (compared to Osaka), and the human side of people, background to Geishas, the Buddhist temples compared to the Shinto shrines, zen temple with background to zen & meditation followed by a tea ceremony. Thank you to Yuta!!

What a great tour this is! Yuta was fantastic leader! - Yuta, our tour guide, was fantastic. Yuta has really good English too as he understands English idioms and sarcasm (I hear Japanese people don't necessarily understand sarcasm the way Americans do). We went to 5-7 places. One of them was a touristy area called kinkakuji temple (golden pavilion), but the rest were off the beaten road. Yuta was very knowledgeable and shared brief yet insightful information about Japanese culture (for example differences between Kyoto and Osaka people as well as learning about geishas). We stopped at this little cafe for a brief time. We learned they've been open for about 1000 years selling only mochi and tea! The mochi is grilled and is kind of similar to a smores. The e-bike is not too bad and actually very manageable. Going uphill was done almost effortlessly. As an American, it was a little confusing navigating as the roads are flipped (everyone drives on the left side in Japan). However, Yuta did a great job navigating us. Our group got lost a couple times, and he made sure to get all of us and consistently made sure we were all doing okay. He also made some recommendations after the e-bike tour. This was our first full day in Kyoto and it was such a treat! Yuta has made our Japan and Kyoto visit an incredibly memorable experience. If you can ask for Yuta, please go for it!
