Huayna Potosi with Jiwaki and Iván Perez - Proffesional gear and guides, that help you with everything you ask, to give you the best chance to get to the top. I went up with guide Iván and he managed to perfectly judge the level of me and my climb buddy and made the chalenge to get to the top a fun experience by taking foto's and making jokes along the way.

Safe and reliable - We got paired with Jiwaki through our hostel and overall I would say they were excellent. The english was really good from all of our guides. My partner and I got paired with Ivan and he made for a great guide for us going up the mountain (and helped us get to the top!). Pedro was also an excellent guide lead and was very good at laying out the plans for everyone and also having a great sense of humour. The equipment they rented us was mostly good, however we had some issues with our sleeping bags that only became apparent on the last night of our 3 day hike (the coldest night). Overall though I would recommend this company!

Best agency in La Paz - Highly recommend Jiwaki if you’re planning on doing Huayna Potosi or any other treks in Bolivia. Great experience, well organised, good gear and great guides all with a great sense of humour for a challenging trek. Special shout out to Ivan for getting me to the top!

One of my best travel experiences - Me and my friend took the 3 day tour and I cannot recommend this company or experience enough!! All the staff were clearly very knowledgeable, professional, and it was clear safety was their number one concern. The food we were served throughout each day was incredible and also extremely nutritious. Very good fuel for the gruelling trek that lay ahead. I unfortunately did not make it to the summit but huge shout out to José for going above and beyond to try to get me to the summit. While I was trying to catch my breath he felt my bag and thought it was too heavy and immediately starting taking things out to carry up himself to make it easier for me, he also gave his thicker gloves to my friend, and was constantly in on me and how I was feeling as he could see I was struggling with the altitude. José worked so hard literally trying to pull me up the mountain and help pull my friend up the ice wall, it was very clear he really wanted to see us make it to the summit. Thank you José for all your help during the trek!

Nice experience - Friendly stuff and guides. Some speak good English. Food is perfect, better then I expected. Some nice ice climbing and generell alpine ice skills. Base and high camp are very good for mountain houses. If you are not experienced just don’t expect any luxury stuff.

Great Once in a Lifetime experience with Jiwaki - Me and my husband just came back from our 3 day Huayna Potosí climb and can highly recommend going with Jiwaki! We talked to a few agencies before, but Jiwaki was the only one being serious about the altitude and how to prepare, if you are not used to it. Other companies just seemed interested in selling the tour and didn’t even ask, if we already spent some time in higher altitudes… The equipment and refuges were good and the food was great and exactly what you needed for the climb (and always enough) and the guides always made sure there is hot water available for tea…. And most important, the guides were great aswell! All of them could talk at least basic english and were super professional and cared for each of us…We were 8 people without highaltitude and climbing experience and all of us made it to the summit :-)

Good but definitely could be better - The guides were very thorough and safe on the mountain. The food was good and accommodation was surprisingly comfy. However, the kit preparation on the morning of the tour was chaotic and they didn’t have all the sizes available for everyone. We were constantly told it’s fine without bits of kit if the size didn’t exist which was confusing - why give it to anyone at all then? When checking boots, the process was very rushed and both of us ended up with boots that were way too big making the ice climbing very difficult. It was either they didn’t care or didn’t know whether we had the right size boots. Also, don’t get tricked into thinking there’s a lot of ice climbing - you do a few hours on the first day and then don’t really need it after that.
