Additional Information

Two notable sites that stand out in Mae Hong Son are its lake and the adjacent remarkable temples - Wat Chong Klang and Wat Chong Kham. After being picked up from your hotel, you will have the opportunity to visit these two stunning temples, known for their glass art that illustrates Buddhist teachings and the simple daily activities of the local villagers, and a unique statue of Buddha crafted from wickerwork. The view is elevated by Nong Chong Kham, the lake, and the neighboring park that borders the front part of the temples, coupled with the picturesque mountains in the distance, rendering it an exquisite location to explore.

The journey is extended to the ‘Wat Phra Thad Doi Kong Moo,’ a temple that proudly sits over the urban area of the province. Built by Phaya Singhanatracha in 1860, the inaugural King of Mae Hong Son, the temple on the highland includes several features, including two chedis and two viharns. The serene environment from the top of Doi Kong Moo hill affords panoramic views of Chong Kham Lake, Mae Hong Son, the Pai valley and the airport on one side, and the forest-cloaked hills of Burma on the other side.
