Discover the enchanting world of Cerro Jaboncillo, a site rich in historical significance and filled with intriguing tales. Its archaeological offerings, dating back to 2,000-3,000 years ago, stem from an ancient tribe known for their pioneering work with clay. Ongoing excavation efforts continue to reveal artefacts and fossils from coastal tribes who once built thriving communities and nurtured families here. There’s also a museum housing a vast collection of Archaeological findings from the Pache Culture, Valdivia, and Chorrera. Our itinerary includes a stop by the local fish market for a peek into traditional fishing methods, a visit to the boatyard to watch the creation of wooden fishing vessels, and a tour of a hat factory to witness the production of exquisite hats. This place comes highly recommended.
