Highlights
  • Michael Jackson Memorial - We’ll briefly stop here for photos and an explanation as to why this memorial is found in Munich.
  • Bayerische Staatsoper - This is the Munich Opera House; we’ll stop here for photos and a brief explanation.
  • Residenz - This is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach Monarchs of Bavaria. The courtyard is open to the public and provides us with a lovely place to stop and take photos and talk about the history of the monarchy in Bavaria.
  • St. Anna im Lehel - The Lehel neighborhood in Munich is a chic district not to be missed.
  • Prinzregententheater - This area is the site of the remaining Nazi buildings and the Luftwaffe headquarters. We will stop here to explain the layout of the buildings, their purpose, and speak a bit about the 1940’s in Germany.
  • Angel of Peace (Friedensengel) - We will stop here for photos and a brief explanation.
  • Wiener Platz - We will enjoy a break at a local, hidden beer garden here.
  • Muffathalle - This is a popular entertainment in the summer; we’ll stop to talk about what events happen here.
  • Deutsches Museum - This is the largest museum of science and technology in the world. We’ll stop to provide you with an overview of what you can see inside and give you tips and tricks for getting the most out of your visit, should you wish to explore the museum on your own after the tour.
  • Isar - We’ll enjoy riding along the Isar river for a portion of the tour and stop to admire its beaches; a popular place to hangout in the summer.
  • Gartnerplatztheater - We’ll stop to admire the theatre here and talk about the importance of this square.
  • Marienplatz - This is the central square of Munich. We’ll stop here to discuss the various Munich breweries and speak about how they’ve all played a role in Munich’s history.
  • Frauenkirche - This is the main cathedral in Munich. We’ll stop here for photos and a bit of history.
  • St. Michael München - This is the largest Renaissance church north of the Alps. We’ll stop here to admire the architecture and allow for pictures and history.
  • Karlsplatz - Our tour begins and ends at this square; we’ll take a few minutes before the tour to go over safety tips for the ride, and we’ll point you in the direction of public transportation after the tour. This also makes for a great spot to explain the essentials of Bavarian history so that you have an understanding of the monuments we’ll see throughout the tour.

The Munich Evening Bike Tour provides you with an excellent overview of the Bavarian capital all while the sun is setting. We’ll ride through the heart of Munich before stopping at a tucked-away beer garden atop a hill for a short break. After a drink and some snacks, we’ll have the opportunity to witness a beautiful Munich sunset from the vantage point of Maximilianeum. Throughout the tour, our local, expert guides will share stories that highlight Munich’s history, culture, and lasting importance in Bavaria, Germany, and the world.
