Highlights
- Nizwa Fort Oman - We depart Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. We pay a visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the fort is a museum that showcases the history of the fort and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress you get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and seiges.
- Nizwa Souk - Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace that offers a variety of goods including jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats. The list goes on! After, we take off to Al Hamra to visit the village where we get to experience how the locals create a lifestyle in the older times. After this quick tour, we move on to Misfah al Abryeen, a truly pristine village that nestles at the base of Jebel Shams. Here you will get to see the large Falaj water system that supplies water to the nearby vegetation. There are numerous marked footpaths throughout the village that is recommended to take your time and explore.
- Al Hamra - We then drive to the Jebel Shams Mountain. Next, we will take you on a small tour in a small museum in the small ancient village of AL Hamra. The locals will show you the traditional Omani lifestyle in the village amongst other routines.
- Jebel Shams - From the village we drive up to the Grand Canyon of Oman. The canyon itself is enough to lose yourself in wonder. Walking around, there is so much to see and be amazed by. Once late afternoon arrives, we depart back to Muscat.

A tour to enjoy forts, local food and spectacular views all in one place - The car ride was comfortable, and the guide (Mr. Abdullah) drove safely and was very kind. Nizwa Fort costs 3 Omani yen, but the guide will explain in detail. You can enjoy local food at Nizwa Souk. You can also buy Omani-made products at Nizwa Souk, making it a great place to choose souvenirs. The view of Jebel Shams, known as the Grand Canyon of Oman, is magnificent! If you visit Muscat, Oman, I recommend joining this tour.

Oman. Full view - Our first day in the Sultanate began with a tour of Nizwa and Jabal Shams.
Our guide Amer was punctual and attentive. He made us learn lots of interesting things about his country.
Oman is a country that has remained authentic and attached to its culture and traditions.
Nizwa is a must, I loved Jabal shams even if I fear heights😁.
On the way back we passed through Hamra and the magnificent mountain oasis.
I haven't forgotten the little Yemeni restaurant recommended by Amer. The lamb was succulent.

Beautiful views - Breathtaking views at Jebel shams. We really enjoyed this adventure yesterday with my husband. We also visited the Nizwa souq and Nizwa fort. Thanks to our tour guide he was friendly and helpful.

The attraction is spectacular - We were lucky to het this tour for the same day and although the experience to ho up to the famous mountain of the highest point called the grand canyon of Oman.

Nizwa fort Bhala Fort Jabreen Castle Jabel Sham - Execellence service from our guide SAID AL-KIYUMI. we visit Nizwa fort and Souq. we got a great dates from souq. then we went to Bhala Fort a UNESCO site. then we went to Jabreen Castle and Jabel Sham for a magnificant lanscape.

Nizwa Tour - Day tours from Muscat to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar we leave early morning from Muscat and we drive to Nizwa souq and close to Nizwa Fort. It was a wonderful day. The guide was friendly.

A beautiful full day of sight seeing - A truly great full day experience with a variety of sites. Although this turns into a long day, the variety of site are truly lovely to see and a wonderful time! Ghaith Alhadi was an AMAZING tour guide! He found some hidden gems, was very personable and adaptable. Having the private guide allows for flexibility and helps you really understand about the area.
