Absolutely perfect experience! - My partner and I chose this cooking class for our final day in Sri Lanka and we are so happy we did it! Our host welcomed us into her home and taught us so much about Sri Lankan ingredients and techniques, including making our own coconut milk! She taught us how to make 11 dishes which were all delicious and then she made us a dessert while we enjoyed lunch. We loved everything about this class and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing cultural and food experience.

One of our favourite days in Sri Lanka! - Our experience was fantastic. We booked with less than 24 hours notice and were welcomed at the door by our host into their family home. We were offered a cup of tea or coffee and then led through into the kitchen to be presented with a plate full of fresh, locally grown vegetables, pots of spices and dishes of rice. We were shown traditional methods like how to shave coconuts and make coconut milk. The recipes used were all family recipes from our host, and she was lovely enough to cater to our request of swapping our dessert recipe for something else that we had previously tried in Sri Lanka and hoped to learn how to make (coconut rotis as appose to Sri Lankan pancakes). Our host was even kind enough to find us a takeaway container to take some food with us after our class, as the amount that you make is a lot!! And there was only 2 of usā€¦ this is not a bad thing however, as this way we were able to learn several recipes, try plenty of traditional dishes and the food did not go to waste, as the neighbours got fed any left overs!! (We donā€™t like waste!) Our host presented us with a small gift before we left (a spoon made from a coconut shell) and then sat with us and made chitchat until our taxi arrived. Overall we made some great memories doing this experience. By far one of our favourite days in Sri Lanka. - if we ever return to Sri Lanka we be sure to bring friends and family back with us! Thank you!

Cooking classes in Sri Lanka - I participated with a friend. Neither of us is very good at English, but they spoke slowly and carefully, so it was very easy to understand. We were able to choose the vegetables we wanted to use, and they made the food less spicy. It was very easy to eat, unlike what you get at a restaurant, and everything was very delicious! We were also taught how to make and use coconut milk, and it was really fascinating to be able to actually experience cooking with them, not just watch! It was also a rare experience to visit an ordinary Sri Lankan home, and the family was very kind. This time, we asked for a lesson at short notice due to transit, but they were happy to accept, which made me really happy and it was a lot of fun! Thank you for the gift! I would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Sri Lanka!! Thank you for giving me a good experience!

Highly Recommended - I can only recommend the cooking course. We were introduced to the different types of vegetables and spices. Then we were allowed to choose what we wanted to cook. We helped prepare the dishes under the very friendly and detailed instructions and were then allowed to eat them ourselves. The hosts are very friendly and explain everything step by step. We were also sent the recipes by email.

Best cooking class in the world (seriously) - This is the best cooking class Iā€™ve ever done (and Iā€™ve done at least 10). She is the loveliest teacher and taught us all the techniques and how to make the best curries. We got to pick 5 different ingredients and then made 5 different curries. It was the best food we ate in Sri Lanka and we felt we really learnt how to make Sri Lankan food. If youā€™re in Negombo this will make your Sri Lanka trip! It was the best activity we did :)

Worth it experience - Very good and authentic cooking class. In a lovely ladyā€™s family home, you can choose 5 vegetables of many she has plus fish/chicken. You make everything- even the coconut milk! Very clean and everything is washed, it is much more interactive than I expected which was brilliant- the woman tells you step by step how to prepare/cook each dish. At the end we enjoyed our food with a. Lovely homemade dessert also. It is around 25 mins from Negombo beach but absolutely worth it. Afterwards the recipes for each dish was sent to us so we can make at home too.

Excellent - definitely book it - Excellent and informative cooking class. We had warm, friendly WhatsApp exchanges ahead, and the host was patient when I wanted to book last minute. The class was excellent. She explained all of the vegetables and spices, and showed us how to use them. She suggested different spices for the various vegetables so we got to experience a range of flavours. Also, she washed everything and made us wash everything so well, which I was pleased about. When we sat down to eat, the food was delicious and she sent the recipes afterwards Iā€™d recommend this class if you have the time šŸ˜Š
