Additional Information

Are you prepared to glide over cascades, speed through untouched indigenous woodlands, and gain insight through a hands-on cultural and ecological journey in Okere Falls, Rotorua? If that’s the case, Rotorua Ziplines is your destination. Designed for a diverse range of ages and skills, a web of ziplines, swing bridges, and walkways will astonish you for 2.5 hours as you fly, stroll, and marvel at the gorgeous taiao (Environment) of Ōkere.

Conceived from a close relationship with the Ōkere Awa (Kaituna River), this collaborative venture between Ngāti Hinerangi and Rotorua Rafting’s locally originated, Sam Sutton, aims to highlight its mauri (spirit) and significance with New Zealand’s up and coming top zipline experience.

With an emphasis on improving our taiao through the very process, every visitor will contribute to the planting of a tree in their honor as part of Rotorua Ziplines reforestation efforts. Safe experience for all nature lovers (not much thrill) - Wonderful guides (Elise, Jacob, Earl), great location, felt totally safe on the lines (even with no experience); this is probably not suited for the adrenaline seeking type. This is more for nature lovers as you will also walk through a new forest and get some information on plants and birds. There are just four lines and the very best two unfortunately are the first ones. So be aware of that! Your guides take pictures and you get them for free. You can also take your own mobile phone as you will be given a a little harness to hang it around your neck.

Amazing! - Highly recommend! Not only was it amazing zip lining over rivers and falls, the guides were awesome with information on culture, flora and fauna. Also included traditional Kawakawa tea and some tree planting for regeneration. It was a wonderful experience and something I would do again.

Awesome! - Had the most fantastic experience at the Zipline. Earl and Josh were just amazing. So helpful and informative. Not only did they make us safe and comfortable but we learned a lot and the Kawakawa tea break was a wonderful unexpected touch. The knowledge of the history of the area from Earl and both of their humour and remembering all of our names just made the trip such a memorable experience. The ziplines were exciting. Left with a big smile and will be back again!

Thrilling - A big thumbs up! - A group of international students had the experience to phone home about. Super fun with different lengths of ziplines with each going faster, including a wooden swing bridge made for a great day out. Guides were all amazing, wish I could name them all but our group had Johnny and Joshua. Great guys, full of stories and kept us all entertained. Highly recommend!

Amazing zip-line experience!!! - We went zip lining with Seb and Johnny who were great guides. The zip-lines, swinging bridge and walks in between were really scenic, including over waterfalls and rivers. It was relaxed and you could take different approaches on the zip-lines. Weather was great and we had a fun small group. Lots of opportunities to take pictures and videos.

Best Zipline in Rotorua - Coolest experience ever, went for an excursion & was a bit nervous as heights scare me but our guides (Nui & Seb) were the absolute coolest guides! I’d say to ask for them if you’re going on a tour 😉 But they make sure you’re safe & have a lot of information about the land you’re visiting. Definitely recommend listening if the guides tell you to try something out, may seem scary but you’ll have fun!

Soaring through the Tree Tops and over the Waterfalls - Amazing fun. The guides looked after us all real well, even me, over 70 with replacement knees and hips! I loved it and beat my husband in the Dual run. Great value for money, one of the best To Dos in NZ. Thanks Archie for the photos too

Gorgeous scenery, interesting local knowledge & adrenaline (if you wanted). Even the teenagers loved it. - Fantastic experience, would highly recommend. The scenery was stunning and I loved learning about the local history, the Māori traditions, the birds, and flora and fauna. The kawakawa ceremony (tea from bush leaves) was really special too. It was adrenalin packed if you wanted, but also chill if that's not your thing. We took our 17 and 15 year old teenagers and they loved it too. And I love that you are regenerating native bush, what a fantastic initiative, giving back more than you take away. Building back our native forest for future generations. Aroha nui.
