  • DMZ - Hotel Pickup in Seoul at 09:00 and Head to Paju for DMZ tour - The Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) is a weapons-free buffer zone between North and South Korea. The area was established on July 27, 1953 when the Armistice Agreement was signed during the Korean War, and includes the 2km-wide stretch of land both north and south of the line. Dorasan station, a railway station on the Gyeongui Line, is the northernmost stop on South Korea’s railway line. Located 56 km from Seoul and 205 km from Pyeongyang/Dora Observatory Situated in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do and at the northernmost point of the Military Demarcation Line, Dora Observatory replaced the previous Songaksan Observation Post. From the observatory, visitors can overlook North Korea and various locations including Gaeseong, Songaksan, Kim Il-Sung Statue, and Cooperation Farm (Geumamgol)/The 3rd Tunnel was discovered in 1978 by South Korean forces. It is estimated that approximately 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel Unification Village

*Closed - Mondays & Public holidays (Excluding weekends, Seollal/Chuseok)

  • The Third Tunnel - Dangerous Tunnel dug by N.Korea after Korean War to invade S.Korea. Found at 1978
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace - Choose 1: Gyeongbokgung Palace

Built in 1395, Gyeongbokgung Palace is also commonly referred to as the Northern Palace because its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeonghuigung (Western Palace) Palace. Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful, and remains the largest of all five palaces.

The premises were once destroyed by fire during the Imjin War (Japanese Invasions, 1592-1598). However, all of the palace buildings were later restored under the leadership of Heungseondaewongun during the reign of King Gojong (1852-1919).

Remarkably, the most representative edifices of the Joseon Dynasty, Gyeonghoeru Pavilion and Hyangwonjeong Pond have remained relatively intact. Woldae and the sculptures of Geunjeongjeon (The Royal Audience Chamber) represent past sculptures of contemporary art.

The National Palace Museum of Korea is located south of Heungnyemun Gate, and the National Folk Museum is located on the eastern side within Hyangwonjeong.

Eye opening and unique experience - This was a highly unique experience to such a historically significant place. Our guide, Charlie, made the day incredibly enjoyable with his attentive, caring attitude. The bbq at the end was a great way to finish off the adventure and definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested about this piece of history. Important to keep in mind that 1) It’s better to select the earliest tour slot to make sure you are in line for tickets and getting a bus slot, as all tours are grouped together on allocated shuttle busses by the DMZ operators, so going later could run the risk of selling out 2) The trek back up the steep 400m 3rd Tunnel portion can be very challenging for people who are not in shape or have medical conditions.

An amazing visit to South Korea and the DMZ! - What an incredible experience! I learnt so much and my guide Jake, was so informative and knowledgeable. Both the 3rd Tunnel and the Viewing Tower were amazing, and the walk up to/across the Suspension Bridge was very enjoyable. Jake had actually been my 1:1 guide for my 4 full days in SK and he made the whole experience so interesting with valuable insights into SK’s history and belief systems. I do plan to come back to SK and explore more of the country.

DMZ trouble-free and great lunch! - When travelling with children it is important to have some flexibility, reason why a private tour is the best option. Although DMZ tour itself has a fix itinerary, the rest of the day we had more freedom. This tour includes the monorail down to the third tunnel, very important if you do not want to walk down and up. We had an excellent guide and the Korean BBQ was amazing, simply the best we had in Korea. Communication before the tour was good, sharp and clear. Recommended!

Well worth the money and super informative - Our guide, Harry, was amazing! He gave us a great history lesson on the drive to the DMZ and was super accommodating. He answered endless questions about Korean culture and history and helped ensure we had vegan food for us at the lunch location. We couldn't have had a better experience!

Private DMZ - Kim Soo was very knowledgeable and really helped understand the history of Korea. He suggested how to best navigate the process of entering the DMZ. And he was on time, efficient and very professional. I feel like we got more value by having Kim Soo as our guide.

Must Do Tour - What an amazing day! The only negative was not knowing what timed tickets we would get for the DMZ tour so it felt slightly disorganised however as we waited for our guide James to purchase the tickets we went on the Peace Gondola and enjoyed Imjingak Park. The suspension bridge visit felt slightly rushed but was worth it! The third tunnel was the highlight. I’d definately recommend even with 8+ yr old children
