Highlights
  • Sea Caves - Unique natural formations
These structures are invaluable, taking millennia to form.
  • Avakas Gorge - A rocky trail amidst rugged mountain boulders
The path through the gorge is marked by dense vegetation and a particularly appealing, shady, and moist environment.
While hiking, you can observe native plants: lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus), Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicea), terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus), thorny broom (Calycotome villosa), common smilax (Smilax aspera), oleander (Nerium oleander), storax (Styrax officinalis), and the endangered endemic Akamas centaury (Centaurea akamantis).
The main fauna species in the area include:

Mammals: Fox, hare, hedgehog. Birds: Cyprus wheatear (endemic), Cyprus warbler (endemic), scops owl (endemic), partridge, little owl, kestrel, wild pigeon.

Reptiles: Stellion lizard. Amphibians: Marsh frog, iridescent frog, tree frog.

  • Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station - On a remote beach far from hotels, shops, and public facilities, the small wooden Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station aids baby turtles in hatching and reaching the sea. During hatching season, you might find water tanks with tiny sea turtles that have just emerged from their eggs at the station. At other times, you’ll see iron cages and signs along the beach indicating turtle nests buried in the sand. These cages protect the nests from predators like birds and foxes.
  • Akamas Peninsula - Route through Akamas forest with a swim stop (April-November)
  • Latchi - Free time for lunch
  • Baths of Aphrodite - In the shaded garden, there is a grotto where, according to legend, Aphrodite bathed
  • Edro III Shipwreck - An abandoned ship that has become a landmark of the Paphos Area

Exceptional! - An extraordinary day! Discovering this part of Cyprus is a real pleasure! Breathtaking landscapes, a top guide who is also an exceptional driver, who took us on trails that we would never have ventured on alone. And what about swimming in the Blue Lagoon...simply magical! We highly recommend!

Great driver makes the day extra fun - Very nice driver! Really made it fun with his cheerfulness and jokes. The off-road ride itself was especially fun. There were no turtles because they seem to hatch in August. The visit to the gorge was a bit short but still fun

Excellent day out - We went through this company and had Philippos of Stevie’s Safari tours as our driver. The itinerary is exactly as it says except that turtles don’t appear until July! Philippos was a real laugh and made the outing interesting and fun. I have seen some comments about it being too packed but it wasn’t as we had a decent time at each stop. The jeep was driven as you would expect on unsurfaced rocky tracks - thank goodness for the bars inside the cab as they were needed most of the off road time! All in all a worthwhile way of seeing that area of the country

True Cyprus - Two adults, two kids. What a great day. Our guide was excellent, a native Cypriot and it made the trip extra special to have his intimate knowledge of the roads, villages, every tree, coastline and history of the awesome island. Emotive viewpoints, and shrewd timing to beat the crowds.

Bumpy ride to Akamas Nationsl Park - Great experience but it was too bumpy. Did not have the idea it was going to be that bumpy. But overall enjoyed it and the weather was great and the guide was good

Bumpy ride - We find the price you charge for this tour is too much. We weren’t even able to get to see the avakas gorge. We were told it was too dangerous to get there. So why did you offer this tour and not to be able to offer. Sea caves what is that we see nothing special about it. The jeep was a very bumpy ride and very uncomfortable.
