A Refreshing Take on Australian History - Despite the weather being quite threatening the tour ended up happening in fine weather. This was Elani's first Love in the Capital tour and she was a fantastic guide. As a student of Australian history I learnt a great deal on this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very refreshing to learn about the impact women had on Australian politics, albeit often behind the scenes. Also wonderful learn of the imperfections of some of the men usually put on pedestals. Would definitely recommend this tour, and would definitely go on others run by She Shapes History when next in Canberra.

Enjoyable and Enlightening - We had a very enjoyable and informative Badass Women of Canberra walking tour with Eliza. It was clear that she is deeply interested in the history of women (local, indigenous and national) and their experiences and influence in the national capital. This was no dry, boring history lecture, but an interesting delve into the lives of political women who have, in many cases, been erased from our conventional history. Strongly recommend this tour for anybody with an interest in women’s history.

Really worth adding to your itinerary for a Canberra trip - I had friends staying from Melbourne so we took this tour as a small group. Eleri was a terrific tour guide and was happy to answer all questions. We were a group of older women who are all interested in politics, so the tour bought back a lot of memories for us. Highly recommend.

Getting history right - Very interesting, amusing & sometimes shocking historical account of our Canberra political history, with a feminist flavour and delivered in a delightful manner, surrounded by well known buildings and parks of our beautiful National Triangle. My second tour and will do more!

What an amazing gift I received! I can’t recommend this tour highly enough!! - What an amazing gift I received! I can’t recommend this tour highly enough!! The She Shapes History Badass Women of Canberra Tour bought the Parliamentary Triangle, Canberra and our Nations history to life. This is how we should be learning our history. It was a privilege to share in this knowledge and relate this to the personal stories of the women we know and love. We were so lucky to have Millie as our guide, she is an amazing woman! Her care, knowledge and enthusiasm was fabulous to be a part of. We learnt so much and left wanting more. We headed to the bunker at West Block on the way home for a look and have looked into a few things, i.e., Googled more information, since our tour. This tour reminded us of a tour we did in Berlin over 20 years ago. We still share the stories today and have been telling, and will continue to tell, everyone about the @sheshapeshistory Badass Women of Canberra Tour! Looking forward to now booking the Women in Espionage Tour and then writing to the @nca_gov_au to enquire about their progress on the repairs and updating of the Centenary of Women’s Suffrage Commemorative Fountain…
