Highlights
  • Khao Wang (Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park) - Khao Wang or Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park is a notable tourist site in Petchaburi Province; it is the symbol of the province. Khao Wang is very outstanding and obviously be seen from far distance, including the white chedi and buildings. Khao Wang is the ancient remains of Petchaburi Province which is located on the 92-meter-high mountain.
We will take the Cable Car to go on the Top of the Mountain.
  • Wat Mahathat Worawihan - Centrally located, gleaming white Wat Mahathat is one impressive temple. The showpiece is a 42m-tall five-tiered Ayuthaya-style prang (corn-cob shaped stupa) decorated in stucco relief, a specialty of Phetchaburi’s local artisans you’ll see all over town. Inside the wí·hāhn (sanctuary) that fronts it are important, though highly damaged, early-20th-century murals.
  • Tham Khao Luang Cave - About 4km north of town is Khao Luang Cave, a dramatic stalactite-stuffed cavern that’s one of Thailand’s most impressive cave shrines, and a favorite of King Rama IV when he was a monk. Accessed via steep stairs, it’s lit by a heavenly glow every morning (clouds permitting) when sunbeams filter in through the natural skylight.

Additional Information

Phetchaburi, among the oldest cities in Thailand, is renowned for the Summer Palace of King Rama 5, positioned atop Khao Wang Hill. The comprehensive estate is adorned with royal halls, palaces, temples, and various buildings, flawlessly amalgamating Thai, neoclassical Western, and Chinese architectures. The ancient palaces have now transitioned into museums, hosting royal necessities belonging to King Rama IV and King Rama V. The Wat Mahat Temple represents a harmonious blend of late Ayutthaya and early Rattanakosin architectural styles, incorporating elements of the ancient Khmer monastery. Constructed during King Chulalongkorn’s reign, the Khao Luang Cave Temple features a sunlight entrance, which bathes the cavern in multicolored splendor and unveils the cave’s interior beauty to visitors.

Palaces, temples and cave! - Mr Pau, already completed a group tour with us to the national park, such a beautiful soul, lots of knowledge and he loved you asking questions of which there were many! Highly recommend Ken Diamond tours, both tours fantastic and learnt so much. Thank you and we will definitely do more tours with this company. Even got blessed by Buddhist monks which Mr Pau made possible!

Excellent private tour. - Excellent tour, guide really got us straight away and included a super visit to the market before the temple, which wasn't part of the itinerary. Guide was very knowledgable and really made our day fun. We laughed a lot about language, she taught us words and we taught her words!! The palace was amazing along with the temple visit. I learnt so much. The meal was great, plenty of food! Very good value for money would highly recommend the private tour as it was very personally tailored to us. Thank you.

Weaving a day - Mr. Bee was a friendly and knowledgeable guide who pointed out many things on the way and then while visiting the various sites. His driving was impeccable and he was a great partner in taking pictures of the various sites; although a bit pushy sometimes. Lunch was OK and our communication could've been better as I got too much of what I didn't want
