Jerusalem

Jerusalem - After breakfast ascend Mt. of Olives for a view point on Jerusalem: Overlooking the Old City, Them ount is covered partly in olive trees, cemeteries and churches. On to visit the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter the Garden of Gethsemane, with the ancient olive trees believed to date back to the times of Christ. Continue to the Via Dolorosa and we will follow this path to the Church of Holy Sepulcher Stroll along the Jewish Quarter and the Roman Cardo, the main street in the Byzantine period of Jerusalem. On to the Western Wall, the holiest place for Jews, to put a note in the wall. We proceed to Mt. Zion on the south side of Jerusalem, King David’s city. We visit the Upper Room to view the traditional tomb of King David, Last Supper Room and Church of St. Peter in Galicantu. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Dead Sea and Masada

Dead Sea Region - After breakfast, depart Jerusalem via the Judean hills to the dead sea, the lowest place on earth; Roadside view of Qumeran caves (visit not included) where the dead sea scrolls were found; Visit a dead sea cosmetic products shop. Drive along the shores of the dead sea to Massada where you will learn about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by king Herod, where the zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palace, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, roman baths and other findings. Descend by cable car. Continue to the dead sea; Enjoy the unique opportunity to float in the dead sea and cover yourself with the mineral rich mud, that many believe has its therapeutic effects. Return to your hotel for the overnight.

Tour of Israel with an informed, thoughtful local guide Sep 2023 - Troy Tours provided good service. It is a great value tour including interesting tours. Hotels were clean nice with a good location.
