Highlights
  • Kicker Rock - This impressive natural monument is situated roughly 90 minutes northeast of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Known as Kicker Rock or Leon Dormido, it is the remains of an ancient vertical tuff cone structure, towering about 153 meters (500 feet) above the sea level.

The natural erosion process has sculpted the rock into its distinctive shape, which some interpret as a boot, leading to the moniker Kicker Rock. Others liken it to a slumbering sea lion, or Leon Dormido in Spanish.

As we snorkel in the vicinity of Kicker Rock, we have the opportunity to observe sea turtles, marine iguanas, rays, Galapagos sharks, and a variety of tropical fish. With a bit of fortune, we might also catch a glimpse of hammerhead sharks. In addition to the marine life, the cliffs are often home to blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, and frigatebirds, while sea lions are frequently spotted lounging along the coastline.

An enjoyable experience. - The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They were very concerned about our safety. The lunch was decent and plentiful. The tour operator included snorkeling equipment and wetsuits which many of the other agencies charge extra for. Our only complaint was the office was closed when we went back to return our equipment?. Still would recommend and be sure to pack your sunscreen.

This tour company is the WORST - We were never picked up by the tour company. After making our way to the docks with the help of hotel staff we got on the boat but the tour company did not provide any equipment!! The boat staff found fins but we had to snorkel in cold water without wetsuits. For almost $200 per person this is upsetting and a once in a lifetime opportunity was spoiled. Also, buy your tours locally. The markup on these sites is high and the money is needed locally. It was difficult getting support through Viator.
