Bus tour along the Eastern coast of Rio de plata - Paul was exceptionally knowledgeable, spoke great English, and was very helpful at stops along the way, pointing out different sites, providing information of the various places cities and towns we stopped at. It's a long day, over ten hours, but provides a great opportunity to see the famous seaside towns of Uruguay.

Good tour, I learned a lot about Uruguay - The guide is named Virginia. She is experienced, very polite and professional. She gave a lot of information in English, Spanish and Portuguese. It was an interesting trip and personally I'm glad I went during low season. Virginia recommended a good restaurant, with good local wine. Uruguay makes a good wine and I recommended it. The bus driver did a very good professional job.

Very beautiful Tour - We really enjoyed this trip, but found the guide a bit short on details to the english speaking passengers. The tour covers some beautiful countryside and well worth taking the tour.

Great Trip - This was a group tour to several beach towns about two hours south of Montevideo. There were about 15 people on the tour and it was in a nice air conditioned bus. First stop was the town of Piriapolis. It was founded in 1890 by Francisco Piria, a Uruguayan businessman of Italian descent. While it’s a beach front town, it is somewhat mountainous. Most of Uruguay is flat but Piriapolis has a Rio de Janeiro feel to it where it goes from the beach to the mountains. We stopped at Saint Anthony mountain to be able to see the city from above. Next stop was to Casa Pueblo, which is a building constructed by a Uruguayan artist named Carlos Paez Vilaro. It took over 40 years to build and is currently a hotel, museum, and personal residence. Some people say it reminds them of buildings in Santorini, Greece; others say it has an Antoni Gaudi feel from Barcelona. It pays tribute to his son Carlos Miguel who was one of the 17 Uruguayan survivors that crashed into the Andes Mountains in 1972 as depicted in the movie “Alive”. They say this spot has the best sunsets in Uruguay. Last stop was to the beach town of Punta Del Este. This is the “high end” resort town of Uruguay. They call it the Monaco of the South. We drove thru a neighborhood they refer to as “Beverly Hills” where each home had its own city block. They pointed out the most expensive house in the area at $15 million. Other than all the fancy homes and high end skyscraper condo buildings lining the beach, the big tourist draw and Instagram picture spot is a place on the beach called “La Mano” (The Hand). It depicts five human fingers partially emerging from the sand. Before heading back, we stopped for a late lunch/early dinner as a group at a restaurant named Napoleon’s and they recommended a local fish called Brotola. I tried it and it was delicious. It’s a thick white fish that was grilled perfectly and served with baked sweet potatoes and salad. So yummy! All in all it was a great day!

A Lovely Day out - The guide was pleasant and the driver was v good and careful . We had a nice stop at Piriapolis a pretty resort town with a beach . Then we had a tour of Punta Del Este . After lunch we were brought to see La Mano ( The Hand ) the famous sculpture on the beach . After that it was on to Casapueblo which for us was the highlight. A long day but well worth it .

Punta del Este 2024 - Lora did her best to make the tour interesting and understandable for us. It is a misstatement to say it is in English. With that said it was very interesting to see the country between Montevideo and Punta del Este. The tour gave us a good over view of the city as well as the area along the drive. We took a different route back to Montevideo to avoid Carnival traffic. That was a big plus for us to view the countryside. Thank you again. Lora.

Don't do it in one day - Well, only one day is not enough. It's waste of time to go and to come back to Montevideo at the same day. Punta del Este is more beautiful when tourists describe it than the reality. The guide also apole too much.
