Flamingos, crocodiles and mangroves - Amazing sunrise kayak tour of mangroves! Omar and Gustavo were brilliant guides with good knowledge of the flora and fauna and a knack for finding flamingos and crocodiles! Holbox is being developed fast and this was a welcome focus on its extraordinary nature as we paddled silently through the mangroves listening to bird calls and other animal sounds. Kayaking was not strenuous but we had perfect conditions, are fit and have kayaked before.

Nature at its best - David was a great guide, very knowledgeable about the fauna and conscious of environmental preservation. Highly recommend the 7AM tour if you are looking for a relaxed time.

Great passion for the island - We went with Gabriel. He was very knowledgeable of the island and the mangroves and has a great passion for it. He showed us really cool animals and explained the nature of the island. Definitely worth the price.

Fantastic experience - This was the highlight of our holiday, we got to see flamingoes, different types of heron and even had a young crocodile swimming a few metres from the kayak. The trip was very well organised, with our friendly guides picking us up from the hotel and taken to the waterfront. We paddled along the large stretch of water between the promenade and the sandbank so we felt perfectly safe. There was us and one other couple and we could go at our own pace. Fantastic experience that we would recommend to anyone going to Holbox, although we were paddling for 3 hours so your do need a certain level of fitness.

An original experience - The kayak trip with Dali was an unforgettable moment. Even though the weather conditions were not favorable, Dali took us to the mangrove with many pieces of information. He allowed us to go and meet the crocodiles. Then a stop on a magnificent lagoon. An original experience is this crossing in the mangrove, a suspended time. We highly recommend Dali for his kindness, his attentiveness and his skills!

One of the many amazing things to do on Holbox - Holbox Island is a gem - I'm hesitant to review anything related to it, because in ten years it might be full of high-rise developments and tourists. For now, though, it is a fantastic blend of authentic Mexican culture, fantastic dining, and an international set of travelers. Kayaking was a great experience - one of many.

If you love nature, you don’t want to miss this - Definitely a special experience to get into the beautiful mangroves of Holbox. There is sooo much wildlife - in the ocean, along the banks and in the air. Our guide was really passionate and we learned so much. We saw crocodiles, horseshoe crabs, string rays and lots and lots of birds. We kayaked approx 7km in total- I’m not gonna lie we were exhausted at the end of it but kayaking back into the sunset and seeing all the wildlife that we did made it worth it!

Paid for the tour but never got to do it!!!!! - We purchased the kayaking mangrove tour and they asked for the money upfront. The next morning they supposedly came to pick us up at our hotel but we thought they were coming at 7 but they came at 6:45. When we called them they said they already came and its too bad we missed out tour! We already paid 1200pesos upfront and they didnt even give us the option for money back, different tour choice or anything. They took our money but no tour!! We were really upset with the service and that we lost our money and tour!
