Then, the guide himself/ herself will tell you in details about the history of the monastery and the story of Saint Yoan of Rila – the patron and the founder of this spiritual place – you will learn when it was established, why it is situated there and also about its significant importance for all Bulgarian people.
Then, you will continue with a walk in the yard around the church and inside of the church itself, where you will learn more about the most important frescoes as well as about the main traditions in the Orthodox Christianity. You will see where the relics of Saint Yoan are kept and the memorial place of the last Bulgarian king – Boris III.
