Additional Information

The first GPS-guided storyteller car presents an exciting, fun, and insightful way to explore San Francisco. This brilliant car guide takes you through routes inaccessible to bus tours, illuminating the city’s highlights. See what’s creating a buzz among the media, earning praise from tourists, and landed a nomination from Time Magazine as ‘one of the year’s most innovative inventions’.

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional form of insurance similar to rental car insurance that limits your liability in case of accident. It is non-refundable. If you opt to purchase the CDW your deposit for rented a GoCar is only USD$300.00 instead of USD$500.00
  • GoCar’s hold a maximum of 2 people. Prices are per GoCar - not per person.
  • Can you cross the Golden Gate Bridge? No, but the tour will navigate you to Fort Point. Here the bridge soars about 200-feet above your head. It is possible to gain pedestrian access to the bridge span from the car park at the bridge vantage point.
  • All renters must be able to read, understand and sign a liability release and waiver form (standard participant agreement)
  • Yes, you set your own pace. The car always knows where you are and you can park anywhere you want (motorcycle parking or car parking) for as long as you want, and as soon as you start to drive again, the car will begin to talk!
  • Are controlled with a motorcycle-style handle, throttle, and hand brakes. The 3-wheeled cars seat two and have a lockable trunk for your things. Their small size makes parking a breeze, and in San Francisco - a major bonus!
  • On the day of rental, a $500 security deposit will be held on the customer’s credit card. If a CDW or SLI insurance plan is selected, a $300 security deposit will be held. The security deposit is released when the GoCar is returned.
  • For the safety and comfort of passengers the maximum height is 6’4” (1.9m) and maximum combined weight of 500 lbs (226.8 kg) for two passengers
  • Passengers must be 4 years of age or older - and small children must safely fit into one of our DOT approved helmets. The GoCar is registered as a motorcycle - but a motorcycle license is not required to operate the vehicle.
  • Foreign language options are available in French, Spanish, Italian and German
  • Note that drivers in San Francisco do not typically drive fast, therefore an average speed of 30-mph or less can be expected while driving.
  • Driver must be 21 years or older to rent and must provide a major credit card and valid driver’s license at the time of check-in. A driver’s license must be in the customer’s physical possession (no photocopy). For foreign customer’s, an international license is not necessary.

Awesome experience, great navigation and interesting tour facts. - So fun! Highly recommend. Go for the longest tour you can. My 15 year old dog and I toured the city. She has cancer and I wanted her to enjoy the sights of san francisco before she passes. Did she sit the whole time? No. Did she love Lombard street? Also, no. But the time and adventure together was priceless.

Fun and different - So much fun to travel around San Francisco with a small and agile stroller. The experience is very worth it. At first we are scared by the size of the stroller, then we gain confidence and the fun begins. It's great to have GPS in Portuguese.

We’re from Oakland and this was Hella cool - This is a unique experience to see so much of the city in a new way. We live in the Bay Area but our friends from outta town wanted to do it. It was actually really cool to get around this way! My piece of advice is be really mindful of stops and timing. We took the 3hr but as we entered Golden Gate Park we knew being from here we weren’t nearly Close enough to get back within our 3 hours as we had stopped a couple times. We ended up having to skip Lombard which is a bummer with the excitement of doing that with this small car. We plan to do the 30 min another time with our of town friends just to get down the coolest street in SF. It was a great time over all and a really great experience. Our time started from check-in and ended at return. Everyone was really kind and helped troubleshoot early when our first car didn’t start. Honestly everyone was pretty respectful on the streets we were driving on as well, but be prepared you are right there with SF traffic and other rental car tourists. Great experience overall!

Go car tour. - What an experience to see the sights and the city. Guy at the desk was very helpful and informative. The cars are twist & go like riding a scooter, well worth the money. We went after midday and actually got an extra hour for free (3 hours total).

Great experience - I love the stairs going up to the view in the bridge. They had a nice Cafe and shop at the top. This was nice because my husband and I were cold and hungry. We had coffee and snack and headed over For a hoodie. The staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean and tidy. I enjoy San Francisco over all…
