We then begin our journey southwards, square after square, delving into Savannah’s periods of growth and decline.

Our discourse covers themes like the Oglethorpe Plan for squares, the familial tension lure of Revolutionary Savannah, the city’s most notorious duel, Presidential sojourns, the Civil War phase and Federal occupation, the experiences of Pre-war and post-War African Americans, and the city’s churches and historic residences. Savannah historic walking tour with Champ--highly recommended! - Champ with "Historic Savannah Walking Tour" was our guide for a 2-hour tour. He is excellent! He was so informative and knowledgeable. We had a friend from Sweden visiting and wanted her to have a good experience. We did indeed. This was a third walking tour in Savannah and it was best of all. When we return to Savannah, we hope we can book Champ again. Highly recommend! My husband accidentally pulled his hearing aid off with the headset provided for the tour and didn't realize it. Champ actually tracked us down to return it!

Forget the trolley tour. Join Brandon for a walk - One of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Brandon’s knowledge and the way he talks about Savannah’s history is truly amazing. The tour lasted 2 hours but I would happily listen to Brandon for another 2.

Entertaining, factual, interesting, informative tour - My sister, mom, and I went on 3 Savannah True History Tours with Brandon: Dark History Walk, Savannah History Walk, and Colonial Cemetery Walk. All three were delightful and informative. Brandon has a true passion for history- he does a lot of his own research from primary sources and does a beautiful job weaving it into stories. He has a knack for winnowing down the vast history of Savannah into the most interesting parts for the tour, but also retains all of the rest of the details so he is able to answer any questions his guests may have. There was a tiny bit of overlap between our 3 tours, which was not a problem in any way whatsoever- just helped us with backstory and information retention, but for our last tour we were the only people on the tour, so he skipped the parts we had learned on our last 2 tours and added new things that he usually doesn’t have time for. He really does go above and beyond to make an interesting and entertaining tour! He is also very committed to making his tours completely factual, which I appreciated. This is not to say they are dry in any way- he is funny and self-deprecating and intelligent. I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed these tours. Excellent: A+++++++!

Savannah’s best walking tour - Our wish for a top-notch tour came true with Brandon! He is a passionate guide with deep knowledge of Savannah history, and is blessed with a very friendly and comprehensible communication style. It was a pleasure to know we were getting the real story. His research is so thorough that he was (discretely) correcting other guides’ claims in real time! There is no question to which he can’t confidently respond—the best measure of competence in this business.

Fantastic historical overview, great for kids! - Wow, what an amazing tour! We lived in Savannah a long time ago but went back for a visit recently. We wanted to learn more about the city's history and the tour did not disappoint! It was great for a family, Brandon was engaging and so knowledgeable. Our kids even remembered some of his facts and tidbits a few days later. Brandon was very personable and professional, highly recommend his tour!

Excellent Savannah History Tour - Brandon was extraordinary. He combined wit and humor to make what might have been dry historical facts an interesting story of Savannah. We recommend his tour without reservation for anyone interested in learning about historic Savannah. Fortunately, there were no ghost stories or tales of the imagination. Brandon was clearly grounded in historical research and facts, some of which seem more incredible than fiction. Brandon could be a Chamber of Commerce ambassador for Savannah based on his obvious love of the city and its history.

The True History of Savannah - If you are ever in Savannah, GA and want to learn the history of the city from 1733 until today, I highly recommend Savannah True History Tours. Brandon was a wealth of knowledge. I learned a lot in the two hour walking tour. He went from the city’s founding to the Revolutionary War to the Civil War through the 20th century to present day. It’s nice to have a tour guide that tells the actual history of the city that’s not embellished or flat out false. Brandon’s tour was very insightful.
