The best experience - I’m not one who likes to book tour groups often, but hiking a glacier could not be missed on our trip to Iceland and this was honestly one of the best experiences of my life! If you’re on the fence about booking this, just do it. You won’t regret it. My parents (in their 60s), my best friend, and myself (an avid hiker in my 20s) all agreed this hike was a once in a lifetime experience. While this is touted as the moderate option of their glacier trips (Glacier Explorer), it wasn’t too strenuous at all and our guide was incredibly kind and in tune with what everyone in the group may need for pacing. I’m sure all of Arctic Adventures’ guides are top notch, but I feel fully justified in saying that Ollie truly was the best. From what we saw of other groups and guides out that day, I’d say they all agree as well. Seems like he’s kiiiind of a big deal or something He was so knowledgeable about the geology and history of the glacier, he was attentive and meticulous in his work to ensure that every one of us felt safe at all times, and he made us smile and laugh the entire trip. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer and he fell right into our sarcasm and banter throughout the day. This is a day we will never forget and in large part, that’s thanks to Ollie for being the incredible guide he is! I cannot recommend this tour enough!

Spectacular glacier expedition with great guides - We had the chance to walk above and below Vatnajokull glacier with Martin and Julia, our awesome guides. They were kind, attentionate, and very professional guides. The experience wouldn't have been quite the same without them, so congrats ! Great memories !

Highlight of our holiday - This ice hike was absolutely incredible. It was the highlight of our holiday. We would highly recommend it to any travelers in South Iceland. We had a clear crisp morning for the hike and the views of the glacier were amazing. Wowow (not sure of spelling) our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable about the local area and geology and helpful on different areas of the hike. He made us feel safe and wanted us to have the very best experience. Teresea who was our guide for part of the hike was also really helpful and friendly.

An unforgettable experience - This was a great experience. Challenging but rewarding hike. And our guide, Martin, was fantastic. Charming, funny, informative and skillful- we felt very safe with him.

Glacier Walk - Our guide Francesco was fantastic and knowledgeable. We felt safe with his guidance and he was very friendly. Walking on the glacier was a new and amazing experience that we'll never forget.

Glacier Xtreme hiking and climbing tour - We did the Glacier Xtreme hiking and climbing tour and it was amazing! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Our guide Eric was extremely knowledgeable about the glacier and went out of his way to make us feel safe while giving us the opportunity to explore various parts of the glacier. We had no previous ice climbing experience which was not a problem as Eric is an awesome teacher/guide! Could not recommend enough!

"Niklas Siemens, our glacier guide, is fabulous" - One of the highlights of our trip was the glacier hike experience in the Vatnajökull National Park. The activity itself was private and done through Arctic Adventures. We met our guide, Niklas Siemens, at the Skaftafell base. Nik was super friendly and down to earth. After a brief introduction of the hike that we’d be doing on the Falljökull outlet glacier, Nik carefully checked our hiking shoes before we boarded the bus to the starting point of the glacier. Nik then patiently showed us how to strap on our crampons and gave us basic safety instructions. He also gave us tips on how to walk on ice and the use of ice axe to help our ascent/descent. As we were hiking up, Nik constantly cleared out some larger rocks that obstructed the paths for us to walk through. He expertly guided us through which area was safe and which wasn’t. He kept pointing out the unique features like ice crevasses, mountain formations, and providing us lots of information about the surrounding area. The views/vistas from the top and while hiking up were amazing. We had so much fun on the glacier. Nik even helped take some fun photos of us so it looked like we were ice climbing! I’ve never encountered such a passionate guy who loves what he is doing! We loved this activity 99% because of Nik! One of our members who constantly needed special attention/care and Nik was always there with him, very supportive and patient. We just loved him!! Nik is fantastic and is truly a great asset to the team. Overall, the activity was well organized and the entire experience was incredible. Highly recommend. I’d like to mention that our group was a family of nine ranging from early 20 to 60. We booked a private 10 day tour through Arctic Adventures traveling around Iceland. It was a jam-packed trip but was well organized thanks to our tour coordinator, Audbjorg Arngrimsdottir and our driver-guide, Gísli Anton. Audbjorg went above and beyond to make sure our family vacation was smooth and memorable, and she nailed it!! A very special thanks to Gísli as well, who had been great and very informative. He always accommodated our needs and made extra sightseeing stops, as well as constantly worked long hours for us. When the weather wasn’t ideal, he tried so hard to find us replacements. Thank you also, Gísli, your playlist to keep us awake :) If you’re looking for a package/private tour to Iceland, I highly recommend Arctic Adventures.

Amazing experience - It was a great experience. Booking was easy, as well as check in, getting equipment and putting it on. It was a well oiled machine. The actual glacier hike was just as great. The guide couldn't have been better and helped us with useful background on glaciers and how to navigate them.

A must do when in Iceland - This was a fantastic and very unique outing and highly recommendable when in Iceland. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and all things Iceland. He also made sure that we were safe during the hike at all times - from putting on the crampons to managing walking over the glacier (not always easy). We got lucky to see the glacier and its properties on a sunny and warm day. The scenery is just breathtaking! Though you do not be an athlete to do the hike, you somewhat have to be in shape. The hike to the glacier is about 20 minutes from where the bus spits you out and involves some steep slopes on loose gravel, you will also go up and down on the glacier for at least an hour. Have some food/drinks for sure before you go.
