Highlights
• Norrmalmstorg - Norrmalmstorg, the term Stockholm syndrome was coined here (yes, it is related to Stockholm!)
• Royal Dramatic Theater (Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern) - Dramaten, from Bergman to Skarsgård, many famous Swedish actors and actresses have worked or performed here.
• Kungstradgarden Park - Kungsträdgården, a city park called “The King’s Garden” which offers something for all seasons.
• Parliament Building (Riksdagshuset) - The Swedish Parliament is from where the country is governed and all public power proceeds from the people.
• Storkyrkan - The Stockholm Cathedral, where King Carl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia said “I do”.
• Stortorget - Stortorget is the main square of Stockholm’s Old Town and the best place to begin your explorations of the Old Town.
• Iron Boy - Boy watching the moon - Järnpojken, “The Iron Boy”, Sweden’s smallest statue.
• Statue of St. George - The sculpture symbolises the Battle of Brunkebergstorg in 1471, which occurred in today’s city centre of Stockholm (at Hötorget).
• Royal Palace - The Royal Palace is one of Europe’s largest and most vibrant places. It is His Majesty the King’s official residence, and essential parts of the monarchy’s representation take place here.
• Marten Trotzigs grand - Mårten Trotzigs gränd, Stockholm’s narrowest alley.
• Slussen - Slussen translates to “the lock” and the reason for the lock is the difference in water level. Two bodies of water surround Stockholm: there is Lake Mälaren on the one side (west) and the Baltic Sea on the other (east). Lake Mälaren is approx. 70cm higher than the Baltic Sea.
• Götgatan 26 - Götgatan turns in to Götgatsbacken and is the main pedestrian street of Södermalm, or Söder, as it has been established that’s what the locals would say.
• Omnipollos hatt - Omnipollos hatt (Omnipollos Hat) is one of the many places on Södermalm that can be described as “out of the ordinary”. Omnipollo is originally a phantom brewery and nowadays also a pub.
• Katarina Hissen - Katarina Elevator, once a substitute for taking the stairs up the cliff side of Södermalm, today a “picture perfect” viewpoint/photo stop.
• Mosebacke Torg - Mosebackestorg, a quiet square where the theatre, Södra Teatern, offers the most popular biergarten in Stockholm during the summer.
• Fiskargatan - This is where Stieg Larsson, the author of the Millennium Trilogy, pictured Lisbeth Salander living in the second book.
• Katarina Kyrka - The original church was inaugurated in 1695 but has since been rebuilt twice after being destroyed by fires.
• Master Mikaels Gata - This lovely little street got its name in 1939 after Mikael Reissuer,
the executor of the city of Stockholm for 15 years in the 1600s.
• Cornelisparken - The park is dedicated to troubadour Cornelis Vreeswijk, the Swedish equivalent to Bob Dylan, and was inaugurated in 2000.

Wonderful history! - Katrin was an incredible guide. She told us fascinating stories about the history of Stockholm. We covered a perfect amount of the city so we had areas we could explore further or we could check the box that we saw it. She gave great recommendations about what to do and what to see. We had an incredible time in Stockholm and believe starting our trip with this tour really helped.

Great tour guide for an informative walking tour - We had a great tour guide who over the course of three hours gave us a ton of interesting information on virtually all the sites in Stockholm. Although we didn’t go into any of the sites that day it is a good way to spend an early day of a trip to get an overview and figure out what is worth exploring more closely.

Excellent guided tour to many... -
Excellent guided tour to many historical places, specially interesting for us as Danes. The only unpleasant thing was that the tour ended miles away from the starting point, and we had a long and tiring walk back.
