Highlights
- Kilimanjaro National Park - You will be picked up in the morning at your hotel in Arusha/Moshi and taken to the Marangu Gate, 1860m. The drive will take approximately 1 hour. Once the necessary gate registration has been completed, your trek can begin and you will soon be hiking through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest. Alongside the impressive vegetation, you will have the chance to catch a glimpse of black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and various bird species. Our knowledgeable English-speaking guide will inform you about Kilimanjaro and will explain the different species of plants and animals you will see. You will also meet mountain climbers descending from the top, and perhaps some of them will tell you of their experiences and you can start to dream about a climb of your own! After a 3–4-hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you will have a well-earned rest and lunch. Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the views, you will return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), l.

Additional Information
You will begin your hike at Marangu Gate (1,900m) before traversing through the equatorial rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m), which is situated on the forest belt border just below Maundi Crater. Along the way, you’ll get to witness some of the mountain’s diverse flora and fauna, while enjoying breath-taking views of the magnificent Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will also get the chance to see a variety of colorful birdlife and many species of monkeys including the Black and White Colobus. You may also meet tired hikers descending from the summit – be sure to give them a high-five for effort!

Beautiful Hike - We have been up to mandara hut.
It was a nice and beautiful hike.
Our Guide Mekare was very nice and the whole trip was very good organized. The Lunchbox was super nice :)

A remarkable experience at Mount Kilimanjaro! - Me and my friends had a really nice experience traveling with sandpiper safaris. Magic Experience - We had a great time with our guide Gasto. He was friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging, and very patient. we really enjoyed this activity. It was a rewarding experience. Good day - Gasto the guide was very punctual, friendly and shared with us so much information about Kilimanjaro so we would do it again 100%. Only issue we believe for a one day hike is a bit pricey but we guess that's the way it is.
