Wonderful Experience - Highly Recommended! - My wife and I had an excellent full-day private tour with Jesús. He picked us up promptly from our hotel, led us on a tour of Guachimontones, took us around a great tequila distillery, explained the tequila-making process to us and guided us through a tasting. After lunch and wandering in the town of Tequila, we wrapped up our day at Cantaritos el Güerro before he drove us back to Guadalajara and dropped us off at our hotel again. Jesús was very knowledgable, funny, and spoke excellent English. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Excellent adventure - Entire tour was fantastic. From pickup at the hotel, to tasting the one of the world's best tequilas and seeing some of the most fascinating archeological remains, best tour in town!

Great Day! - Guachimontones was really special. It’s a sacred and impressive site with a really nice visitor center with a video to watch. I think our guide, Jesus, made it all the more wonderful. He has great knowledge about the site and his enthusiasm shows in his face when he’s talking about it. We also went to a family run small tequila distillery and learned all about the process. Once again, Jesus was very knowledgeable and described all the steps. Of course we tasted all different tequilas and even digestive tequila for after dinner that comes in different flavors. It was a really great way to spend a day!

Value for money, recommendable - lot of value for money, Guachimontones is a great place to go... some might say not as beautiful as some other archaeological locations, but much older and, in my view, more special. The Tequila part of the tour is also lots of value for money, with some great tasting experiences

Great day spent - Nice way to get out and see the country side of Guadalajara. The extra money was worth it for the private tours. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable.

Recommended private tour Guachimontones - Tequila - Highly recommended. As it is a private tour, you manage the schedules and visits, if you prefer something, you can stay longer and you can skip other things. Although in my case, Mar was great and lasted a long time to do more things! Thank you very much Mar!

Excellent private tour to many fun places - We truly enjoyed the entire day, great ride to all places, despite having a rainy day our tour guide did a phenomenal job. We learned a lot about this UNESCO place, had fun at Tequila city and visited “cantaritos El Guero”. The lowlight was the tequila distillery place, you can skip this stop. Thank you for making our day so much fun Mauricio.

Trip not as advertised… - We did not have the trip described in this listing. I booked this private tour with three friends. I regularly use tours like this on vacation to take advantage of local knowledge and expertise. Prior to booking I read the reviews of others- including the negative ones. I felt I knew what I was getting into. It was possibly going to be a driver that would take us to different sites and handoff to english-speaking guides or distillery staff at the various locations to tell us about what we were seeing. I would start off by saying that our driver, Alberto was a very nice man and was a safe driver. I’d say that his English skills were not the best, he frequently did not understand me, and we had to use Google Translate several times during the day. But he was kind (ex. it was raining that day and he helped my friend find a place to buy an umbrella). Usually at the start of the tour, the guide sets some expectations: there’s a rundown of the places you’ll see, a review of the schedule, and what to expect. None of this happened. His car smelled quite strongly of cigarettes, and all of our clothes smelled like cigarette smoke by the end of the day. He picked us up on time at our hotel, and took us to Guachimontones 1st. When we arrived at the site we were told that all the English-speaking guides were serving other groups (evidence that the tour company had not requested this in advance). Our driver escorted us around. We watched a 15 minute video in English at the interpretive center. He was not able to answer any additional questions we had about the site. We got back in the car and went to was supposed to be our first of two tequila tastings. Rather than having something selected, our guide asked us which facility or kind of facility we would want to go to. None of us knew any of the facilities or much about tequila at all. He ended up picking a place - and again we had a long wait for an English-speaking guide. More evidence that nothing was really arranged/planned ahead of time. The tequila tour, and tasting was interesting and enjoyable once it happened. At this point, since we were quite a bit behind schedule-wise, he took us to the town of tequila. We were supposed to have two hours. We got a quick lunch on our own (no suggestions of where to eat). We got to walk around for maybe 20 minutes before he texted to let us know we needed to leave. We did not get a second tequila tasting and we did not get to go to the last stop, which was supposed to be some sort of indoor/outdoor tequila bar. Because we got behind schedule, we got stuck in terrible rush-hour traffic on the way back. It was a long drive. We were supposed to get back around 3 or 4 pm. We did not get back until after 6 PM. It just felt like our guide was not very well equipped to be a guide. The tour company really didn’t set anything up ahead of time so that there would be staff ready for us when we arrived. it just felt like a bit of a disappointment because it could have been so much more. I wouldn’t recommend this tour to a friend.
