Highlights
  • Longshan Temple - Meet your knowledgeable tour guide at your hotel lobby and start your private day tour in Taipei City.

Enjoy the flexibility of this private tour and create your own custom-made itinerary with the help of your knowledgeable tour guide. This private tour provides you sightseeing not only in Taipei City but the outskirts of Taipei City like Yehliu Geopark, Shifen Waterfall or Jiufen Old street.

If you are first time in Taipei, you can have the classic Taipei City tour to explore the highlights of Taipei City and schedule as follows:

Begin your day trip at the most well known Longshan Temple, learn the culture & religions of Taiwan and admire the ancient architecture built in 1738.

  • Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall - The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area.

A huge complex includes the Liberty Square, National Theatre and the Memorial Hall where you can see the show of guard exchange.

  • Dihua Street - Dihua Street has been an important centre for commerce in Taiwanese products and produce such as Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, incense materials, and for the post-processing of Taiwanese tea since 1850s.

This street offers visitors a glimpse of mid-19th century Taipei as well as the city’s thriving artistic side.

  • Dalongdong Bao An Temple - Originally constructed in 1742 as a wooden shrine, the Bao’an Temple is a Taiwanese folk religion temple. Throughout Taiwan’s history, the temple was renovated and reconstructed numerous times, leading to a 2003 induction into UNESCO for cultural heritage conservation.

  • Lin An Tai Historical House & Museum - Tour the housing and garden style of Taipei during the Qianlong Period in Qing Dynasty (1754)

  • National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine - Built in 1969, the complex contains the main shrine, as well as the famous guard changing ceremony. Most visitors will leave the area as soon as the guard changing is complete, but be sure to walk inside and explore the fascinating and beautiful Chinese architecture.

  • National Palace Museum - Originally founded within the walls of the Beijing Forbidden City in 1925, the present-day National Palace Museum moved to Taipei’s Shilin District following the Republic of China government relocation in 1949 with an official opening for the public in 1965. Over 600,000 of the most precious artefacts within the collection were moved to Taiwan to prevent their desecration during and after the Chinese Civil War.

This attraction is optional, you can either spend your time on admiring the precious artifacts or skip the museum if you’re not interested.

  • Taipei 101 - The landmark of Taiwan and once the tallest building in the world (2004-2010)! You can either go up the observations at 89F (expense on your own) or admire this building from the surroundings (free).
  • Elephant Mountain (aka Nangang District Hiking Trail) - This is the best choice if you want to get the best spot to admire the view of Taipei City & Taipei 101.

However, a 40-minute hiking along the stairs is required (25-min going up, 15-min going down), but the view up there is definitely the best you can have in Taipei City.

Thanks to Jack! - The guide, Jack, is an outstanding example of hospitality: helped us with the arrival experience, took us to eat some local food when we’ve mentioned we are hungry. The tour is really flexible and adjustable for travelers needs with a modern, comfy and clean car. Additionally, Jack’s warm personality made this trip a more special. Jack even took us to a Night Market and made sure we are safe and our needs our covered (Bottled water, tissues, washroom stops). It’s an experience I will cherish forever. I recommend to any solo, couple of families. Thank you once again, Jack!

An amazing solo city tour with Vincent - I was travelling to Taipei for business and had a day free to sightsee. I booked the Private City Tour as it had a great selection of sights, was convenient (collection and drop off at my hotel) and could be tailored to suit my preferences. A few days before the Tour I received a message from my tour guide Vincent who introduced himself and welcomed me to Taiwan. On the morning of my Tour he messaged me again to tell me he had arrived to collect me. Communication was fantastic throughout this process-something I appreciate a a solo traveller. Vincent was the most insightful and friendly tour guide. He asked me if there was anything specific I wanted to see and even asked me what my food preferences were so he could ensure we had lunch at a time and place that suited me. He drove me to each of the sights in his air-conditioned car and gave me the key facts and history of each sight we visited. One thing that I really appreciated as a solo traveller is that Vincent also offered to take photos of me at each sight so I would have memories of my day. Wow, what a great photographer he is too! So many great photographs and he knew exactly where I should stand to get the best shot. After lunch we went to Elephant Mountain, however as we drove the fog and rain set in (common in this area at this time of year). Not to worry! Vincent had an umbrella for me and still ensured I went to the main areas and even located the cows that sometimes hide, a tourist attraction in themselves. I crossed a suspension bridge, saw the hot springs and all the time was educated by Vincent. The rain and fog was no challenge for him! He delivered me back to my hotel safely 8 hours after collecting me. Vincent is a knowledgeable and friendly gentleman who is a credit to the Tour Company YOLO. He drove safely and was courteous and polite throughout. I highly recommend Vincent and the YOLO City Tour and it was the highlight of my trip. Thank you YOLO and thank you Vincent.

Taipei Tour with Junior Wu: A Traveler's Dream - I was lucky enough to book a tour with Junior Wu: from start to finish, my experience was fantastic. Junior is incredibly knowledgeable about Taipei's history, culture, and hidden gems. He answered every question I had thoughtfully and provided a wealth of information, making the tour both educational and entertaining. As a solo female traveler, safety was a priority for me, and I felt completely secure throughout the day with Junior. He was attentive, respectful, and went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. The tour itself was well-paced, with plenty of opportunities to explore, take photos, and soak in the sights. Junior's recommendations for local restaurants and shops were spot-on, and I discovered some real treasures thanks to his insider knowledge. If you're planning a trip to Taipei, I wholeheartedly recommend booking a tour with Junior Wu. You won't be disappointed!

The best tour of Taipei - Vincent was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Taipei and showed us all the major important cities of the city. I do not think we could have seen as much of the city if we have not taken this tour. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the city for the first time.
