Convenient - It is nice to have a convenient day tour that is easy to book and takes us to the places. The driver is nice.

best value tour in Taiwan? - This tour is so good that i did it again on my second trip to Taiwan. To visit all the sites on your own using a public transport or even a hire car would cost more and take more time. This tour sees all the great sights along the scenic east coast around Keelung. At Juifen instead of shopping in the old street there is time to walk up Mount Keelung for great views if you are more interested in the outdoors (like us). Book with the Mandarin Speaking Guide is fine because both times on the tour one of the other guests speaks chinese and english and acts as translator and even that makes it a better group day experience. top tour from a top tour company that offers many options including hiring private drivers etc

Overall great - Round Taiwan is a great company, James & Grace are super engaging with a high level of customer delight. Look for Jeffrey the superlative guide. If you want to learn both history, culture, and modern day Taiwan in a light, fun style he’s your guy.

A lovely Taiwan day - We had a fabulous day tour with Jeffrey Peng as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and really enhanced our experience. The Geopark is interesting and set against a lovely ocean backdrop. The Jifuen experience was excellent with hundreds of food, souvenirs, and other stores teaming with tourists. Some beautiful views also. The Shifen waterfall was also very much worth it. Lastly, we lit our lanterns and set our wishes into the sky! I would highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Jeffrey.

Panoramic views - The views were quite picturesque and the weather very cooperative. Tour guide was helpful and English was conversational - the small group setting helped with ease of commute and flexibility.

Nice day trip but could have had a better guide - The geopark was the highlight for sure. The hyundai starts was comfortable for the drive. Max capacity of 6, which ended up being our group size. Enjoyed the fellow travelers! Only 3 stars because the driver Miao was just ok. Never accompanied us and didn't tell us much about the sights. English was ok, not great. Attitude ok, but not sure if he liked being a guide. Communication with the operator was good.

English speaking? Just book the cheaper Mandarin only tour. - We paid double for the English spoken guided tour on the understanding that we would be given details about the surroundings on the drive and left to our own devices in the actual attractions. The tour was shared with three mandarin speaking tourists who got most of the attention of the tour guide. This lead to the trip being mainly done in Mandarin and when we asked "what did you say?" "what were you talking about?" etc.. it was left to the other tourists to translate or not the conversation into English. We didn't get the full story as the tour guide hadn't actually finished speaking about or we'd already past the points of interest. We tried asking the driver/tour guide directly but it still continued to be a Mandarin trip. The tour guide was trying his best to accommodate us (i.e seating set up, water, sweets, maps of the places we were going and final drop off location). When the tour guide did speak English to us it was very short sentences and mainly pleasantries, how to get into the attractions and what time we were to be back etc... We think that the tour guide just wasn't proficient enough in English to offer this as an English trip but his heart was in the right place and he did his best. If we had paid the Mandarin only price then we would have been giving this review an excellent. The actual tour was really well thought out, there was a couple of stops we could have had more time to explore (geo park and Pingxi). We had good weather and overall a good experience. But it was more like a taxi/local bus than a guided tour. Would recommend to Mandarin speakers.

Horrible experience. - This is the worse tour I had from Viator due to the fact that I had booked for an English speaking tour guide, but had a Mandarin tour guide. It turns out he had to use an English/Mandarin translation app to communicate with us. We didn’t know where we were going and what the significance of the places. Our driver tried his hardest to communicate, but rarely spoke through out our tour. He was more of a chauffeur than a tour guide. Nice driver.
