Whale sharks can be up to 12 meters long and weight up to 15 tons! Be amazed by their graceful demeanor, marvel at their immense size and gentle movements, then, observe their gaping mouths. Worry not- they feed exclusively on plankton! Take turns to get off the boat in pairs and swim near the whale sharks, accompanied at all times by your guide. After the swimming session, you will head to one of the beautiful beaches on the north side of Isla Mujeres to relax and sunbathe with a refreshing drink and enjoy lunch before heading back

Additional Information

Wear beach clothing over swimsuit, sunglasses and cap or hat. Bring your camera, towel, a change of clothes and cash for dock tax, fee to the protected natural area, souvenirs, photos, tips or additional expenses. Due to this activity is carried out in open sea waters, the participants must be good swimmers. Groups of maximum 10 participants per boat. Please avoid the use of chemical substances, such as sunscreen, cream, makeup, etc. Be advised that Mexican law prohibits: Swim with whale sharks without a lifejacket or flotation device. All swimmers must remain at least 6 feet away from whale sharks, and are not allowed to touch or hold them at all. It is important not to interfere with their movements by placing yourself in front of them and avoid making any sudden movements in their presence. Whale sharks are endangered species, so it is mandatory to comply with these rules.

Awesome trip to whale sharks with great help of Marisela - I joined the whale shark swimming tour. It was awesome. As coming on a business trip from the Netherlands and with not much time for leisure, all assistance was very helpful. Marisela, the consultant of Nexus was very very eager to make my dream come true to see these beautiful sea creatures. Very grateful.
