Highlights
  • While on a trip to Armenia, a visit to a celebrated location-Serene Lake Sevan is a must. With just an hour’s drive from the capital, Yerevan, Lake Sevan is positioned 1900m above sea level surrounded by extensive mountain ranges. The journey initiates with an invigorating morning stair-climb leading to the Sevan Peninsula, graced with a captivating panoramic lake view from the peak. The Sevanavank Monastery is also on the itinerary. Mariam princess built the monastery to commemorate her late husband’s life in the 9th century. Sevanavank is also acclaimed for housing one of the attractive Amenaprkich (all savior) Khachkars of Armenia, the depiction of Jesus being one of the 13 rare cross-stones.
  • The next stop would be the breathtaking North of Armenia where you can immerse yourself in the splendors of nature. Here, you’ll explore the ‘Armenian Switzerland’- Dilijan city.
  • Moving forward, a brief halt at the Haghartsin monastery, established between the 10th-14th centuries, is in the plans. Haghartsin, meaning, ‘the play of the eagle’, offers a landscape that can be compared to a magnificent artwork. The monastery and its surrounding natural beauty combine to create a mesmerizing view. Visiting this location is like stepping onto an incredible, unreal film set. The Haghartsin refectory, noted as the largest in Armenian church architecture, was groundbreaking during its time. The reason behind this could only be truly understood by witnessing it!
  • Sharambeyan Street, dotted with traditional homes and craft studios, effortlessly transports you back in time. Located in a national park, the locality, often referred to as ‘Little Switzerland’ for its wood and stone forest hill houses, is the place many Armenian artists, musicians, and filmmakers call home.

The best guide in Armenia - Amazing, insightful and caring guide Anastasia. Above all praise. The best guide ever. And she helped find food without queues, she broke the queue. She explains everything about the excursion well and cheerfully. Makes you laugh and amuses, not boring. It’s clear that she’s enjoying it work. There was also a good driver, Vagan. From Evgeniy, the one who wore the purple jacket on two excursions).

Stunning views of Dilijan and Lake Sevan - The excursion is perfectly organized, the views are simply mesmerizing, the guide Rosa knows everything about everything, she spoke in great detail about the history of Armenia, and about the monasteries, and about nature, and about customs. The only thing that spoiled the impression was the weather, it started to rain from time to time, there were strong winds and it was quite cold. So if anyone goes on this excursion in May, dress warmly and take an umbrella with you, the weather in May in these places is unpredictable. And many thanks to the organizers and the guide, they did everything to make the excursion as comfortable as possible for the guests - we were given umbrellas, treated to gata, and drinking water was free. Thank you!

Guide Anastasia and driver Marat - Overall, a very good excursion, I highly recommend the guide, we visited all the places. Cons: little time spent on walks; in terms of food: only the fish from Lake Sevan was tasty (and at an affordable price), the rest was rather bland
